I think Mother Nature has PMS. Shorts Monday, leggings Tuesday, shorts Wednesday, leggings Thursday - up and down temps all over the place. Sheesh. And the pollen - I generally like the temps in Spring, but I always get hit with the pollen.
Nick? Come on y'all, didn't you recognize the reference? It's Nick from Casablanca. I know Bebo recognized it, 'cuz it's one of her favorite movies.
And as for your weekend, most of you had just about as much fun as I did! What gives? Jeanne is the only one that did something interesting. I've got to get my jollies somewhere.
Not a whole lot going on. I haven't written or read, and I have deadlines looming on both. The book I'm supposed to read is for a contest, and it's due by April 18. And the writing? Well, at the writer's group, we get charms for writing - and I want one!!!! The next meeting is the 11th, so I got to get a move on. I'm also taking an on-line workshop through the group - it's called "Sizzle 101" and is being taught by Blaze author Jennifer LaBrecque, one of my favorite writers.
Here's the description:
The two-week course will cover sensuality vs. sexuality, creating sexual tension, awareness, steps to intimacy, the emotional component, engaging all five senses, and moving beyond tab a into slot b.
I'm really looking forward to it. It's my first on-line workshop, so I'm still not quite sure what is expected of me.
Anyway, that's just about it for now. Hope you are having a great hump day!!
That's the journey of a writer, long and winding. Ups and downs, rejections, joys, acceptance, laughter, tears, community, and yet a sense of loneliness. The road is bumpy, often full of potholes, and yet it's one we gladly follow, for we are writers and writing is a part of our soul. Join me on my journey.

Cue Jaws Theme
Monday, Monday, Mondaymondaymondaymonday .....
My version of the Monday Jaws song ..... yeah, I'm weird like that. Anway, here it is Monday again, and ain't we all soooooo happy? Whatever. Another week, another strange temps in Baileyexas. We'll be close to 80 on Monday, and throughout the week, except for Thursday I think, when we'll sink to around 65, and then back up again. YoYo!!!! After the sinuses adjusted, I actually had a good weekend. Spent Saturday with the girls (and one guy) at the Yellow Rose meeting. Wonderful presentation by Rosemary Clement-Moore, ate lunch, then over to Barnes and Noble for her booksigning. Yes, I spent too much money. Yeah, I hate myself now, but ... Anyway, Rosemary writes YA - her latest book is the third in a series titled "Highway to Hell". I bought it. I also bought the first one. Will try for the second at another time. It has been years since I've read YA. Um, probably since I was a YA. LOL Yes, we had books then ... and no, they weren't carved in stone. Sheesh.
So that was pretty much the high-light of my weekend. How was yours?
And since we haven't done this in a long time - what are you reading? I have a whole stack of books to choose from, not sure what to start on next.
Oh, and since St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday, there will be a blog that day and then not another one until Friday.

I Won, I Won - or They Really Like Me!!!!
Well, I didn’t really win, but I came in second in the “First Kiss” contest at the Yellow Rose Valentine meeting. But for me, it was winning, because I wrote!! Yes folks, I stayed up until almost 3:00 Friday night/Saturday morning and wrote around 1,300 words!! That was the most I’ve written in almost 2 years and I’ll tell you right now, it felt good. And it’s a new story, not a re-working of old stuff that wasn’t really working for me. I got the reaction that I wanted – they laughed when they were supposed to, so everything was fantastic.
Sooo, how was your weekend? Both of you, or are there three of you out there now? By the way, at the bottom of the page you’ll find something about followers. This is some blogger application where you can sign up as a “follower” of my blog. Not that I’m some cult leader or anything. LOL Anyway, it would be nice to know who is reading this stuff – ‘cuz from what I understand, there are a few lurkers out there.
Anyway, my second place entry is too long to put here, so if you’re interested in reading it, let me know and I’ll send it to you. As long as I know who “you” are. Not really kidding there …..

It's in his kiss
Get out your ‘kinis and leg wax, it’s gonna be in the 80s this weekend. Yip-freakin’-pee! If you can’t tell, I’m not a happy camper. It gets to the 80s and I start thinking about the air conditioning. I’m not ready to turn it on. I need those temps that are no lower than 50 or higher than 70 in order to keep the unit off and conserve electricity. I’m doing better now that I’ve gotten more hours at work, but things aren’t really great either, so the more I can save the better.
And I need a kiss. Don’t worry, not from you, and not really for me either. It’s for a character – there’s a contest at the Yellow Rose (local chapter of RWA) for Valentine’s Day. It’s a first kiss thingy, and I’ve looked through a couple of things, but they’re not right. I still have two more stories to go through and if I can’t find anything there, then I’ll need to write one. I know … write. But hey, I’ve started reading, so things are progressing.
Not a whole lot going on to blog about. Really.
I hope you all are having a great week!!!
And don’t forget to go over to Amie’s and leave a comment to win a book. The link is below.

Just Imagine
Okay, imagine this is a blog post. In fact, while we're at it, imagine this is the best damn blog post you've ever read. Why? 'Cuz I'm queen and I said so ... besides, I have nothing to blog about, that's why. So, this is the greatest blog post you've ever seen, got it? While we're at it, let's add some imaginary pictures of sexy guys. Yeah, that's it - lots of sexy guys: a little Jackman, a few Clooney, some Bill Pullman (hey, I think he's sexy), a couple of Blooms - you get the idea, right? Sprinkle in a joke sent by Susan/Christa/Bebo/whoever - real hysterical/groaner joke. A fantastic review of a book I haven't read yet, and presto chango, a blog post. See, that was easy, wasn't it? What do you mean you don't see anything? You have to use your imagination. You got one of those, don't you? Do I have to do all of the work around here? Okay, okay, .... let's see ... I went to the Yellow Rose Christmas party Saturday night! Had a great time. Bebo and I actually got there without getting lost. That's a first so far. Well, we did get lost going home, but hey, it was dark!!! We just refer to it as adventures in driving. and that's it! Yeppers, that's the full story of my weekend. Don't you wish you'd stuck with the imaginary post??

A little map will do ya
So I did something different on Saturday. I went to a book signing! I’d never been to one. Susie and I went – it was Michelle Miles, and she was at the Barnes & Noble at North East Mall in Hurst. I’d never been to Hurst either, at least not on purpose. LOL I got off of work at 1:00 and met Susie at my apartment and then we were off! I had printed out one of those Google driving directions things to help us, as neither one of us really knew where we were going. Have you ever used one of those? They are useless and awfully vague with their directions. But I guess we did okay since we only got lost 3 times. Hmmmm. Anyway, Michelle’s new book is A Break in Time, the second in the Ransom and Fortune Adventure series. (I have got to find a copy of the first one, oops.) So we saw Michelle, Susie bought a copy of her book and I bought two. Why? ‘Cuz I’m going to give an autographed copy of the book away. Not right now, probably Wednesday when I decide how to do it. But I digress … after getting our books, Susie and I had lunch with Ames and Lynn at someplace called Logan’s Roadhouse. Interesting place and the food was good. So was the company. I had forgotten how great it was to hang out with Ames, and how invigorating talking about writing can be. That’s what I’m hoping for with Yellow Rose – the stimulus that I get from being around other writers. It could be just the thing to kick my writing ass into gear.
So, that was my Saturday. Sunday was spent doing nothing and watching the Cowboys whip some Cleveland Browns butt! Altogether a great weekend.
How was yours?

What was your name again?
Hi, maybe I should re-introduce myself. My name is Bailey Stewart, and I’m a writer. I write romantic comedies. At least, I think about romantic comedies. I haven’t quite gotten them transferred from the ol’ brain matter to paper. Just a little catch, but I’m sure I’ll get past that eventually. Anyway, I missed you guys! What have I been doing while I’ve been gone? Absolutely nothing. And I’ve gotten damn good at it. If doing nothing were an Olympic event, I’d take home a silver medal. Really. No, not a gold, I have been doing some things. The office is almost put together; there are only a couple of boxes in the bedroom. Miraculously and to Bebo’s amazement, I’ve actually been keeping the apartment half-way decent. I think I’ve used the vacuum more in the 5 months I’ve been here than I think I ever did in a year at the house. Yep, the vacuum cleaner has become my friend. Now, if only the iron would talk to me. I also joined a paranormal group and have been on a ghost hunt. That was fun and I’m looking forward to doing more of it. Plus, as a step towards getting the stories from the head to the page, I am on the brink of joining Yellow Rose, the Fort Worth branch of the RWA. See, I’ve been disqualified for the gold. Oh, and Aidan got married. Yes, you read it right, my oldest kitty is now a married man. And no, the men in white jackets are not waiting for me. I think. He married a nice kitty named Cissy in a beautiful MySpace ceremony at the Rock Bottom Bar and Grill. I cried. If you promise not to laugh too hard, I’ll even share pictures here. Right now the happy couple is honeymooning in Ireland. Dublin to be exact. Hey, if you have to dream, dream big.
So what about you? What have you been up to in the last couple of months? I hope everyone has been having a great summer. I know that Michele and Dru have joined Facebook. Marty got married. And …. Well hey, fill me in!!
Oh wait!! I have been doing something else. I've been making my own LOLCatz. Obviously, you don't have to use your own pictures, since this isn't one of my cats. They have their own picture files you can choose from. This is one of my favorites that I've made.

HEY!!! BLOGGER CUT OFF THE WORDS!!!!! AWWWWWWW.
You gotta go here to see it properly.
