I owe, I owe ....

It's back to work I go ...... for the first time since last Wednesday. I am so tired, but I only have 2 days and then off Friday. I can do it. I'm debating as to whether I should take a book or the crosswords with me. Going to take it easy today and only do what I have to - check out customers and take in books, otherwise I'm sitting on my ass. This prednisone is kicking my ass, although I slept better last night than I did Monday - when I got to sleep. I'm hyper and overheated - not a wonderful combination. Filling in for a co-worker on Monday, which means I'm facing five 8 hour shifts in a row next week. Sheesh. Bailey will not be a happy camper.

So, what are looking forward to today - this week - next week? Please let it be a lot more fun than I'm going to have.

Is it Winter already?

Please, please let it be winter!!! No? Damn. Well, the doctor confirmed my diagnosis of asthma - BUT there is a bit of bronchitis interacting with it. So I am on prednisone (don't mess with me), a zip pack, and nebulizer/inhalers. Fun. Oh, and did I mention that I'm off work until Wednesday WITHOUT pay?? Yeah.

So, besides this being Bailey has gone into poverty day - it's also the birthday of two of my furbabies:

Mr. Seamas - aka Bubba the Red-necked kitty - is 6!
And my little Baileyboo - aka BooBear - is 4!

There will be ....

a blog later on. I'm not any better so am off to the doctor now. Check back later.

It's That P.S. That Will Get You Every Time

Okay, I'm struggling with a sinus infection/cold, so am not up to the usual jovial, er, sunny, um, okay - so maybe this isn't that different than other posts lately. Sue me.

To my darling husband,

Before you return from your overseas trip I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me. I was coming home from Sylvia Park, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into your car. I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am enclosing a picture for you.
I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.

Your loving wife.

P.S. Your girlfriend called.

Still Gone With the Wind

I'm still not up to snuff (what does that really mean?), so I'm tossing a few more funny things your way, or at least I think they're funny - but then, I'm on drugs ...

Oh, and JJ? She can't poke me - I strike back! LOL

A Little Humor ...

A man and his wife were working in their garden one day and the man looks over at his wife and says: 'Your butt is getting really big, I mean really big. I bet your butt is bigger than the barbecue.'

With that he proceeded to get a measuring tape and measure the grill and then went over to where his wife was working and measured his wife's bottom.'Yes, I was right ... your butt is two inches wider than the barbecue!!!'

The woman chose to ignore her husband. Later that night in bed, the husband is feeling a little frisky. He makes some advances towards his wife who completely brushes him off.

'What's wrong?' he asks.

She answers: 'Do you really think I'm going to fire up this big-ass grill for one little weenie???

Funny Ads

These are advertisements that have appeared in papers across the country (or so we are led to believe)
- Mt. Kilimanjaro, the breathtaking backdrop for the Serena Lodge. Swim in the lovely pool while you drink it all in.
- The hotel has bowling alleys, tennis courts, comfortable beds, and other athletic facilities.
- Toaster: A gift that every member of the family appreciates. Automatically burns toast.
- Sheer stockings. Designed for fancy dress, but so serviceable that lots of women wear nothing else.
- Stock up and save. Limit: one.
- We build bodies that last a lifetime.
- For Rent: 6-room hated apartment.
- Man, honest. Will take anything.

No Spam

I have walking pneumonia, so no spam today. Instead, here's a "little" joke Lis sent me. Y'all have a good weekend.

I rear ended a car this morning.....
I could tell, it was going to be a REALLY bad day!
The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!!
He looked up at me and said "I am NOT Happy!"
So I said, "Well, which one ARE you then?"
That's how the fight started...

Checking In

The only reason those furry little monsters have been able to take over is because I've come down with some sort of virus. When it rains, it pours. I'm in bed, and not able to sit up too long. I'm keeping nothing down - not ginger ale, not tea, nothing. And let's just say that both ends are having fun. I'm going back to sleep now, maybe I'll be better by Monday.

Yuck

This thing has sunk into my lungs, I have an appointment with the doctor on Thursday, I'll let you know what happens. Until then, I'm in bed - I don't even have the energy to stand up long enough to fix something to eat, let alone stay at the computer long. Lets just hope it's not pneumonia.

Oy

Good news: I’m not so dizzy anymore.
Bad news: Now I have a head cold/sinus – fungus is very, very high and I’m a stuffed up/draining, sneezing little fool. But I’ll make it.

And furthermore, my characters have been giving me hell.

You can say that again.

Excuse me, this is my blog.

I don’t care if it’s the bloody Tower of London. Somebody is planning the ol’ switcheroo.

No, really? *gasp*

Don’t think I’m not paying attention. Did you really believe I’d let you get away with this. Operation: Eden is my book, not my wuss of a brother’s.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Just hold those pretty little horses of yours …

Honey, that’s not all I’m going to be holding. Eden is my girl.

Nobody said otherwise.

But you’re switching characters. You said so yourself.

Where’d you hear that.

I read it, right on this blog.

No one gave you permission to read this blog.

Sure they did.

Who?

Bud and Ernie.

The Satellite Twins have no say in the matter. They’re just characters too.

Don’t tell them that.

Hey, they’re lucky I didn’t keep them as figments of my imagination. If they keep this up, that’s where they’ll be heading. Just a couple of voices in my head. And as for you …

I get the girl.

Of course you get the girl.

I do? I don’t understand, I thought you were switching the characters.

I am.

But I’m still going to get the girl?

Oh yeah, you’re going to get it all right.
