Here We Go Again

Oh, hi! Look, you showed up again. Isn’t that nice of you. What’s the matter, got nothing else to do? Evidently I don’t either. LOL You see, it’s Summer. All together now, how does Bailey feel about Summer? You’re lagging Toni. Michele, pay attention. One more time. Tori, this way sweetie. Yes, face the monitor. Brandy! Quit snickering. Melissa? Wake up dearie. Once more everyone. How does Bailey feel about Summer? There you go, that was perfect. Almost. Susan? What are you doing? No looking at LOLCats right now. Anyway, yes it’s Summer and my brain has gone on vacation along with the nekkid muses. I’m waiting for Fall. Please, sweet Fall, show your orange leaves, your crisp evenings, your splendid shedding of Summer’s green coat. Cast off the chains of Summer and run free like the wind!!!!! Oh, sorry, got carried away there. Lis honey, you’re late. Find a seat. You’ll have to catch up on your own. BTW, for being late that’ll be 3 laps around the track. Raine? I see you lurking over there. (waving) Okay, as you have noticed, the blog is still a Monday, Wednesday and Friday blog. And Friday’s will still be spam day. Keep down the cheers people. The only thing I ask of you – and this is for you lurkers – just at least say hi once a week. Two letters - H and I – a simple thing but enough to let me know that you are out there.

So it’s Summer, Tuesday was a level red ozone alert, Wednesday a level orange. Bebo and I are not amused. This isn’t good for people with asthma. It’s not really good for people without asthma. We’re all choked up about it. (har, har) But Fall really is just around the corner. School has started, NFL is in pre-season, the new Fall TV season is within eyeshot. Soon the Texas State Fair will start – my last sign of Fall. Last weekend, Bebo and her mother saw geese flying in formation heading south. Yippee!!!!!!!!! Fly babies, fly home to mama!!!!! I said – oh, hi. I forgot you were there for a moment. Sooo, Summer is nearing it’s end (oh please, oh please, oh please), and soon Bailey will be in a much better mood. You will be thankful for this too, just wait and see.

So, without further ado (not that we were ado-ing anyway), here is another of my LOLCatz. Yes Susan, see – good things do come to those who wait.

Until Friday, have fun, be safe, and be good. If you can’t be good, take notes.

Where's the Ice

I hate this. It got up to 103 today with a heat index of 108. 108! One, zero, eight. I can't take this much longer - I hate heat. My asthma hates heat. My a/c hasn't gone off once today. Not to mention that the kamikaze caterpillars are back. Yeah, made my summer. It's too hot to cook - almost too hot to think about eating. Did I mention that it was hot? 108. And there's no relief in sight. Oh, wait. Towards the end of the week we may plummet to the cool temp of 99! Be still my heart. If I could figure out how to do it, my big ol' chair and I would be sitting in the freezer right now. My kingdom for an igloo. The kamikaze caterpillars seem to enjoy it though. Another reason to hate them. I opened the front door today and had one fall on my hand - yuck! I did see a big whooly black caterpillar the other day - means a hard winter. Football is starting. The state fair is in September. School starts in about a week. What do those three things mean? Fall. Cooler temps. Around the corner. Please let it be around the corner. Did I mention that I hate heat? Why Bailey, why are you still in Texas? I asked myself the same thing today when the little temp thingy on my toolbar turned red. Money. That's why I'm stuck in this hell-hole they call summer. 108!

On the brighter side, I forgot to mention that Raine nominated me as a Rockin' Girl Blogger. I'm really honored. I, on the other hand, can't seem to make a decision so I'm not nominating anyone. I know, party pooper. But it's too hot! I'm too hot! Oh please Fall, get here soon ...

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Back to Work I Go

I’m feeling much better now, although my voice gives out easily. I’ll be returning to work Thursday, but only for a half day. I don’t think I’m capable of a full 8 hour shift.

Bebo and I will be going to the North Texas Irish Festival on Sunday. Cece and Dennie will be going to. That’ll be a lot of fun. I love this festival – Bebo and I have been attending for the last 5 or 6 years. I’ll be taking it slowly though, lots of stops and rests.

What are your plans for the weekend?

February 27

I need to do a little catching up. Last Friday was Glenice’s birthday, but I was too sick to do anything, so here’s a Happy Belated Birthday! Glenice, you have been such a great friend. You’ve supported me through hard times, flying here after mom died to help me; painting my bedroom, re-caulking the bathtub, keeping me company. I can never thank you enough. I love you sweetie.

Now, guess what today is? What, you don’t know? It’s my first anniversary. Yep, 1 year ago today I started this blog. It’s been a long and winding road filled with ups and downs (although more downs than ups). I’ve made a lot of friends, had a bunch of giggles – you’ve touched my heart in many ways. Here’s to a lot more good times. I had planned to do a lot more about this, but not now – maybe later.

Went ahead and took Tuesday off, I won’t be returning to work until Thursday. I’m still struggling a bit for breath, and I’m still tired.

Update

Sinus induced asthma, I'm on my butt for a few days - won't go to work until Tuesday. No spam this week, sorry.
