That's the journey of a writer, long and winding. Ups and downs, rejections, joys, acceptance, laughter, tears, community, and yet a sense of loneliness. The road is bumpy, often full of potholes, and yet it's one we gladly follow, for we are writers and writing is a part of our soul. Join me on my journey.

Test
This is just a test to see how this will look. Guess I'll start with a picture of my almost 9 month old kitten Bailey - or Baileyboo to those who know and love him. Isn't he cute? He's such a baby - but being a feral cat, he still has a little wildness in him. I caught him at approximately 3 months old, then found out he had ringworm (yikes) so he spent the first three months of his life in this house in a kennel. I would let him out in my mother's bathroom every once in a while, but with other cats in the house we had to be careful. He kind of walked funny at first, but is doing fine now. And he's getting a little less skittish every day. He and Devlin have fun - a little loud, but what would you expect from a 9 month old and an 11 month old. Oh, and this is Devlin. I got him at 1 day old - yes, he's a handfed baby. He's little for his age and always will be because he had a parasite from birth that caused him to not gain weight for about 3 weeks during a crucial growing time. He's very loving, more loving than any other cat I've ever owned. "They" say that's the way with handfed kittens.
Well, I guess this is the end of the test. Now I'm off to play with the rest of the blog.

IT WORKS!!! And the kitty's are beautiful. I handfed Layla. Only she didn't get that parasite if you can tell, because after we had her spayed....wooboy did she gain weight! Lalya has a nickname too. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who does that!! How do you like Blog Spot? Going to work OK for you?
I think I'm going to like it. I'm still trying to figure out how to post links and stuff and I'm not sure I like this template, but I'm still working on the kinks. At least I shouldn't have the bandwidth problem. Although I'm going to miss the smilies.
I'm planning another post for the Just Little Steps blog too. I haven't forgotten about it.
Are you going to put in a link to "Just Little Steps"? I don't seem to be able to locate it.
never mind. I found, "Just Little Steps."
I knew you'd find it on your own. Smart girl.
Thanks Lis!
The kitties are gorgeous, especially Devlin. His markings are darker than I've seen on this type of coloring before. Must be the Texas air. He isn't big for a Texan, I guess, but his markings are strong.
Bailey is a lot like our dog Ivanhoe in coloring. He was a beautiful honey color almost exactly like that. Your guys are really beautiful.
I'll really stop commenting now. I hope I'll find "Just Little Steps" too. On this site?
I keep hearing squeals and I'm kind of afraid that it might be baby rats down in the basement making themselves at home in/on my boxes. Yuck, if that's the case. They'll end up spoiling some of my books because I think that's all there is this close to the basement ceiling that I can hear those critters. I guess it's one of the adults that keeps gnawing on the pipes to sharpen his/her teeth and tear into my books. Eeks.
It was bad enough when the mice used on of my books as a communal toilet but a whole box. Mamma mia!
