I don’t know what I did to make you turn away from me, but whatever it was …. I’m sorry. …..
What’s she doing?
Writing a letter to spam.
It up and left her. Now they are going to Bebo’s inbox.
Really? That hussy.
Remember those wonderful days full of dicks that could chop firewood? The halcyon days of where it was as tall as the Eiffel Tower? Or as long as the distance between New York and Los Angeles?
I think it’s one of those psychedelic words.
She on drugs?
Obviously. She’s writing to spam, isn’t she?
Was it the alarm clocks? Did I take too many? What if I gave you a map to where they are all buried?
No Bailey!! Don’t confess!!!
Sgt. Preston is gonna come and get you ….
Or those men in the white coats.
I wish you would tell me what I did. Bebo can’t give you what I can, she won’t make you famous, er, infamous, or whatever. She’ll never appreciate you the way I do.
This is embarrassing. She’s begging spam.
Not as embarrassing as talking to something that isn’t real.
Ernie? We’re not real.
For the hundredth time moron, no. We’re figments of her imagination.
You mean, like spam?
Not exactly. You see, spam is real.
Spam is real and we’re not?
I know, it’s scary isn’t it?
I don’t know if this will reach you or not, but I wanted to give it a try. I need you spam, I need your misspelled words, your bad grammar, your completely insane logic. I even need your out of proportion body parts. Leave Bebo and come back to me.
Spam has a name?
No, that’s a movie quote.
Bailey is talking to spam and you’re quoting movies?
Like it’s really going to make any difference, considering that she’s writing a letter to someone in Taiwan?
You have a point.
Please come back to me.
I miss spam too.
Oh, what the heck. And Ernie too.

Oh, and there were some awards too. LOL
Yeah, the Oscars were mostly what I thought they would be. Not a lot of surprises. I'm really glad that Heath won for Best Supporting. Bebo and I watched the Batman movie in utter amazement at his performance - we really saw no trace of Heath Ledger, just The Joker - and that's how a performance should be. In the first Batman movie it wasn't that way. While Jack Nicholson gave a great performance, you could still see Jack Nicholson - in his voice, his mannerisms, etc. A little over the top Jack Nicholson, but still .... But Heath's performance - there wasn't, I don't know, you couldn't see Heath. I know I'm probably not explaining this well, so you'll have to take my word when I say that I sincerely believe that he deserved this award for the performance that he gave and for no other reason.
I had forgotten that Sean Penn had won the SAG awards or I wouldn't have been surprised at this win - I thought it would be Mickey Rourke - that he was the shoe-in. Kate Winslet was no surprise for the best actress - that left the best supporting award for the "unknown", since Kate won it at both the Golden Globes and the SAG awards. I've always liked her - liked that she was a "real" woman, not anorexic looking, but what a woman really looks like - at least a healthy woman. Not that there isn't a lot of healthy anorexic looking woman in real life - it's just nice to see someone on screen who has meat on her bones and plays the leading lady.
Anyway, I thought that Hugh did a great job - he sang, he danced - he pretty much did what he did at the Tony's - he entertained.

I really don’t have anything to blog about today. It’s the middle of the week, a rather routine week, and things are going on as usual.
Oh, those of you that asked to read my entry, um, could you maybe give me some feedback? Thanks Jeanne and Dru! And Cheryl, could you email me at baileystewart at baileystewart dot net and I will send it to you.
I don’t know where this story is going, honestly. I am a panster by trade (for those of you who don’t know the technology, it means someone “flies by the seat of their pants” and don’t do outlines or really plot), but I generally do know where the story is going. Just not this time; this scene came out of no where – so I’ve got to get a handle on the characters, what’s going on, what’s going to happen, etc. Especially since this is the opening scene!! And no, it’s not a dream – although I did consider that, but pictures of Bobby Ewing coming out of the shower flashed through my head. If you don’t get the cultural reference, well, you’re just too young. LOL
Lately though, this is how I've been feeling while writing ... I'm so tired. LOL
And I do have the first kissing scene out of the way, so I can breathe easier.
So we'll see what happens next, okay? LOL

Sooo, how was your weekend? Both of you, or are there three of you out there now? By the way, at the bottom of the page you’ll find something about followers. This is some blogger application where you can sign up as a “follower” of my blog. Not that I’m some cult leader or anything. LOL Anyway, it would be nice to know who is reading this stuff – ‘cuz from what I understand, there are a few lurkers out there.
Anyway, my second place entry is too long to put here, so if you’re interested in reading it, let me know and I’ll send it to you. As long as I know who “you” are. Not really kidding there …..

Ahh, but then there’s the first time we really notice the opposite sex. While there are exceptions, usually it’s the girl that first starts to notice boys beyond the “ooooh cooties” stage. Mine was Chet – yeah, that was his name. It didn’t last long, but I do remember it fondly. This was in the first grade.
Teen love; the angst and the ecstasy. Hormonal overdrive. I don’t think I need to go further except to say that his name was Benny. Insert your own memories here.
We’re all familiar with the rest of this progression, so I’ll shift to the other “loves” that can happen in our lives. My cats have always been my loves – from Checkers, a tuxedo cat of my childhood, to my present unruly three. Pets can bring so much unconditional love into our lives, and the love that we feel for them is just as real and deep as the love for another.
And let us not forget the love of a friend; someone that can hold a place in your heart just as snug and tight as the love for family. Sometimes, these can be the most important “loves” in a person’s life.
I guess the point of all of this is a hope that you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, no matter who your valentine may be. Remember that you don’t have to have a mate or significant other in your life to celebrate this day. You just have to have love ….

I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.
I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful.
But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken! How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face.
So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore.
I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).

And I need a kiss. Don’t worry, not from you, and not really for me either. It’s for a character – there’s a contest at the Yellow Rose (local chapter of RWA) for Valentine’s Day. It’s a first kiss thingy, and I’ve looked through a couple of things, but they’re not right. I still have two more stories to go through and if I can’t find anything there, then I’ll need to write one. I know … write. But hey, I’ve started reading, so things are progressing.
Not a whole lot going on to blog about. Really.
I hope you all are having a great week!!!
And don’t forget to go over to Amie’s and leave a comment to win a book. The link is below.
