Connections

I've come to the decision that everything in my life is connected in one way or another. Now don't just sit there and say .. "well duh". Let me explain. But then again, short of leaving this page how can you stop me from explaining ..?? When mom died a lot of things inside me began to shut down. It wasn't an immediate reaction, but more like the beginning of a dam with the water slowly trickling to nothing. A couple of years later, I'd virtually stopped reading. Writing was sporadic but I still kept up appearances. Bailey Stewart was everywhere ... but inside, Bailey Stewart was running. Then I cut off the last of the .. connections. What am I talking about? The things that keep a writer going, the stuff that feeds the imagination. Reading, writing, blogging, talking to other authors. Those were the things that fed me ... and they were the things I had stopped doing.

So what to do about it? I'm slowly mending those connections. I'm reading again. I'm talking/participating/networking or whatever term you want to give it. And I'm here, talking to you. It's all about connections, keeping those intact so that the muses can play.

You are a fundamental connection .. and I've missed you.

Wow, sweetie. That is exactly how it happened with me after Ethan was killed. I still only sporadically visit by favorite blogs, read on a regular basis and interact with my old 'friends' on line. It is a long, slow journey. And still, it will never be the same. We will both have to learn to live with our 'new reality.' Hugs!!!!

That's it Angie. I am finishing up reading my 3rd book in a little over a week - in the last two years I would say I have read maybe 3 books in their entirety - for pleasure that is (I have read some for contests). Things are looking up.

Missed you, too!! Glad to see you 'back'. :)

Totally understand where you're coming from. I've taken some time away from all writerly things the last er, year or 2?? Didn't write a single word for the last 8 months. And my poor blog's been neglected for a lot longer than that. Sometimes I think we all need that break.

It wasn't so much of a break Lis as an almost total shut down .. the muses fled when mom died. But I think they're getting tired of vacationing in the Bahamas ....

Gonna make a try at it Brandy. And yeah, I messed with the template - don't like this one either. *sigh* Wish I could customize it - but then again even if I could, I wouldn't know how to do it. LOL

I did this, too--not for the same reasons, but the result was the same. I am fighting to come back as well, and I hope to have something new for you to read soon! Love and hugs :)

Yeah, your blog has had the same topic listed for quite some time hon. Glad I'm not the only one struggling for a come-back.

It's great to see you back, Bailey. I just happened to catch your tweet about it--glad I did. The new blog design looks great.

Do whatever it is that fills your heart with the most gladness, my friend. :) Don't put added stress on yourself to "succeed" as a writer, etc., because you've already aced the "Truly Wonderful Person" exam, and that's what really counts.

I wish you abundant happiness no matter where your journey takes you.

Love, hugs & kisses,

(who so totally gets what you mean because she's still clearly trying her damnedest to find herself. LOL)

Wow, Bailey--great minds think alike! I was just commenting here about your blog comeback at the exact same moment you were commenting on my new blog! :D

BTW...you have mashed potatoes? Good friends always share. (anime eyes)
