Where the Hell Have You Been Bails?

Who me? Um, around. Okay, I’ve been on Facebook. Sue me. For the last couple of years I’ve been hiding in Yoville, Farmtown, Farmville, Petville, Mallworld and whatever other app I could get into. Hiding. Instead of writing about a better world, I’ve been living in la la land on Facebook. Much easier that way. No really. The last couple of years I’ve been decorating homes when I can’t afford to in real life. I’ve been buying mansions too. I even own a cave somewhere. Oh, and not just me either. My other me. And my cats. Yes, my cats are on Facebook, they have more friends than I do and their friends talk to them.. a lot. How’s that for pathetic? My cats are more popular than I am. You may have seen some of their friends; they show up in my comments from time to time. Not to talk to me of course, they’re looking for my cats. And no, you can’t be their friends .. you’ll be talking to them more than me.

This week begins the second stage of the comeback of Bailey Stewart. I start writing. Why now? I belong to this loop – the Write-Now loop – and it’s starting up again on Monday. We get a certain number of words to meet or pages to revise – a day. So, I go back to writing. I think it’ll be revising on Monday though because I have to go back over the ol’ WIP – Casey at Bat. I don’t remember a lot about it. Probably need to do some sort of outline too. But anyway, this isn’t the writing post, so enough of that.

And lastly, I’ve been quitting smoking. This Thursday will be 4 weeks since I took a drag off of the e-cigarette, almost 6 weeks since my last cancer stick. It’s been so easy that it’s almost scary. Sort of waiting for that shoe to drop. When I got lost on my last drive to writers group, I didn’t take a drag off of the e-cig at all .. and it was right there in front of me.

So that’s where I’ve been since this blog was active. No where interesting .. now, where have you been??

I remember Casey at Bat! It zinged! I've been the same place I've always been. Same boring me. *g* VERY glad to hear you've quit smoking! WTG! Best wishes for your new Write-Now venture.

I'm still here...uhm, I have a very nice homestead in frontierville and restaurant in cafe world if that tells you anything. Other than that, seriously not much.

I hope it still zings Brandy. And Lis - Frontierville? Tried it, didn't like it. Tried Cafe World too ... lol

Kudos on giving up cigarettes and I'm so glad that you're back to writing.

Me, I'm at the same place, although I have added a feature to my reading blog (http://notesfromme.wordpress.com)
that is a fun way to discover new characters in a series.

Thanks Dru! I'll have to check out the new site later. Sounds interesting.

I was in Gardens of Time for quite a while...then I, too, decided to quit the apps and do the writing thing again. Best to you on both the writing and the not smoking :)

Oh I haven't quit the apps, just going to back off a bit. Set my crops for days instead of hours ...

SO proud of you for giving up smoking. Way to go!!! I have yet to get my husband off the darn things. He just has a really hard time quitting - has tried several times before.

Glad to see you back and WRITING!

Hi Melissa!!! Get your husband an e-cigarette. They work and not only that, but if he's going to continue to smoke, this will give him the nicotine w/out the carcinogens or tar .. no smell either. And after the initial cost, they are cheaper. Two weeks on them and I was done. Just having it in my pocket keeps me in line .. I guess because it lets me know that if I need one, it's there.

Awesome news, especially giving up smoking! I'm glad to be checking up on you once again.

I'm working and writing and writing and reading and...writing. I've actually done more writing related activities (rough drafts, partials, teaching online classes, etc) this year than I did all last year.

Woohoo! Glad to have you back :) And even happier to hear of your continued non-smoking. That is totally faboo!!

Now, get cracking! The Write Now Game eagerly awaits your totals for this evening!

Good for you for quitting. You can do it. And I expect to see you hit those daily goals. :)

Bailey Stewart said...

well, I wouldn't realistically expect daily, but 5 days a week is do-able .. Tuesday/Thursdays will probably be a "and somehow they get out" night, since I don't even get off work until around 6. Too brain fried.

Thanks for stopping in Michelle!

You really are on a positive path of self-improvement! That's wonderful, Bailey! Sometimes we need a break from everything before we can focus on the future and how we want to mold it. It sounds to me like you're most definitely on the right track. :)

And when you do get your books written, I know they'll be well worth the wait.

As for me? I've been busy reinventing myself and doing some of my own future molding. :)

Susan, I think there comes a time in our lives where we naturally re-evalute ...

Hi Saskia! Thanks for dropping by. I'm still trying to figure out time to visit other blogs .. Tritter has trapped me in its web ....
