Yippee Ky Yay

Got my glasses. Big yay! And they’re only driving me half-way nuts. All this up and down crap is for the birds. It’s interesting learning which direction to look for different tasks – NOT! But I’ll adjust, I’m sure (gag me).

Sunday Bebo and I rented a couple of movies: Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore (loved it), and Over the Hedge (bored – although there were some good parts and William Shatner was a hoot).

How was your weekend?

I'm sure once you're used to them, the glasses will be a blessing for you. (At least I hope so!)

My kids have Over the Hedge and liked it.

Have a great monday!

{{{Hugs}}} on the glasses. Been there. It sux the big one. But you will adapt, I promise.

My weekend? Why is it that, by the time I finish all the yard work outside, I have no energy to clean the inside? :-/

You're get use to the new glasses. How do they look?

My weekend was exhausting and I'm glad it's over.

Have a good Monday.

Let me answer Dru's question on how the glasses look: Since Bailey has been hiding behind huge plastic frames forever, it's interesting to look at her in the stylish new wire frames and ACTUALLY SEE HER FACE!! Who knew she looked like that? Now I know why the people at the restaurant gave me the senior discount & not her! ;P

I wanted to love Music and Lyrics but I found myself a little bored and I was so bummed.

You'll adjust to the glasses! I want to see that Hugh Grant movie. Looks really cute.

I'd like to know how long it takes to adjust to bifocals. I've had mine for at least three years now and they still drive me insane. But maybe that's just me. *g*

I'v got some great new books, so the reading part of the week-end was good. As for L&M, I wanted to see it too, but to be honest, mostly because Drew there. I love her movies!

I used to have those large ugly, heavy glasses and then contacts for over 35 years. A few years back I got the new light weight trifocals and for the first time I much prefer my glasses to the contacts (need reading glasses to see close with them).

Do you have the glasses with the lines? Whichever way it goes they are a pain to get used to. Unfortunately, I showed the optometrist that I was sitting farther back from the computer than I actually do. So I can't really blame them when the glasses are not very good for the computer.

Tomorrow is Hydro day at 10 a.m. Please pray that my huge shortfall of over $800 will finally be resolved and that I can get an a/c and put aside a little more for a laptop and soon. Today was the worst day so far with heat and humidity. I hope I can even sleep so that I'm halfway coherent tomorrow. Mentally I'm gearing for another problem. And I certainly don't ever want to see the former landlord again. Maybe that's why he was "kind" to me on certain issues so that he can tell himself he made up for it. Hah! A few sandwiches and a better fridge don't cost $800.

As for the glasses, I'm sure you'll get used to them too. At first they are kind of weird but you grow into them after a while. My worst ones were glasses that made all the stairs curve. I kept looking down where I was going and that really wasn't a good idea. But I got used to even those.

Have a good Tuesday.

BTW, my friend wanted to go to see "Lyrics and Music" too because of the main actors. I'm not a Hugh Grant fan. But I'd heard fewer pros than cons about the movie so I sort of skated around it and we went to see "??" the one with Jane Fonda and Lindsay Lohan instead. Not great but good enough.

Hugs and prayers.

For some reason I Hoovered the house from top to bottom. I don't know what came over me ...

Haven't seen Music and Lyrics yet. Thought the same thing about Over The Hedge. It could have been really good.

Didn't do much. Struggled with writing. Went out for dinner. Did some yardwork.

Mine was a good one starting with Friday, I took the day off for my b'day. It started with volunteering to read with kids at my church in a summer "don't forget what you learned in school" program offered in conjunction with the DISD.

That night, Lois (baby sister) took J and me to dinner at a great new place on Lower Greenville: Greenville Avenue Seafood and Jazz. They had a 4 piece jazz band that specialty is 20s & 30s jazz and blues and the food was melt in your mouth good.

Saturday was quiet, we went out that evening with friends to Sports City.

Then Sunday after church we went to Margie's (younger sister) for hamburgers on the grill. The weekend ended with the sisters at the movies to see Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer. We enjoyed it.

BTW, did you find the boxes I left on your front porch?
