Some Days Make no Sense

Ackkkk, here’s the blog post where I have to talk about myself. I hate Mondays because of this. I can never think of anything to say. Wait, I’ve lost 22 lbs. so far – that’s good, right? Bebo and I watched “Vacancy” Sunday. Scary stuff with plenty of jumps and chilly moments. We will never, ever stay at one of those isolated roadside motels again. Not that we’re planning on taking any trips off interstate and into the backwoods. But just in case …

Today, in the U.S., is Labor Day. I think it’s a day to celebrate the working class by giving them a day off. But now it’s evolved into a day of shopping, barbeques, and lake-side shenanigans. Shopping of course means that somebody has to labor, so it’s not Labor Day for everyone. Got it? We used to have a big family get together on Labor Day, but since Mom’s death, well actually since Dad’s death, we haven’t had a lot of get-togethers. Bebo will be spending the day with her parents and I’ll be sitting around twiddling my thumbs. Or sleeping. My guess is sleeping. I hope those of you who celebrate this day have a good one – well, hell, everyone have a good one whether you celebrate Labor Day or not.

See why I hate Mondays?

I never quite understood Labor Day myself. People always have to work in some aspect.

CONGRATULATIONS on the weight Loss! I'm so happy for you!

I hope you find something fun to do, maybe a movie marathon?

And we like hearing about you, whatever you decide to write.

Have a nice Labor Day!

WTG on the weight loss, that is great news!

I find that most holidays that I grew up with that had more of a meaning now don't. It is all about the commercialism than what it means.

We use to have a family picnic/gathering but that ended with our family as well.

Several TV stations are having marathons today.

I hope you have a good Labor Day.

WTG on the weight loss

Never really did anything special for the holiday.

Last night I went upstairs around 8 and me and my friend watch an O.C marathon(I think it started at 6). Finally at 11:30 I gave up and came down to bed(there was still another to go) Today we'll be making lasagna and dividing them into indidual portions and freezing them for their runs. And today there is another marathon on this one starting at noon and going til 5 am and it's of Beverly Hill 90210(catch me I might faint. LOL)

Wow, Congratulations! You have to let me in on how you're doing it.

Who is in “Vacancy”?

We used to go fishing on Labor Day. I am not sure what that had to do with the holiday though. *head scratch* Now we don't do anything special.

Like Brandy said, we just like hearing from you!

Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome.

Enjoy your day of sleeping. Sounds like the perfect way to spend Labor day if you ask me!

Hey! Congratulations on your weight loss!! It is much better than I am doing. I'm stuck: not gaining, but not losing, either.

I certainly hope that you did not spend the day sleeping. The air outside almost had a coolness to it.

Well, I can tell you where the lbs that you've lost have landed - and I'm NOT happy about it! ;P

My family never did anything special for the holiday, my 1stDH's family always got together for cookouts & singalongs (3 people played guitars). I liked your & Howie's family's cards/dominoes marathons too, but now, as you say... nothing.

Oh well. Sleeping is nice too...

I don't see a whole lot of point in most holidays, though I'm thankful for the day off. I can't say that I labor too hard at my work, and I doubt anyone would feel sorry enough for the work I do to give me a special holiday in thanks.
