The Project

I've decided that the best way to work on this house is one project at a time. At midnight Tuesday night, this is the one I began. It only took a hammer, screwdriver, needlenose pliers, cussing and one bandaid to finish. Oh, and all day Wednesday. Much, much better. I'll be pulling up the carpet one section at a time. This time, the hall. Those tack boards with the little nails that are alongside the walls was the hardest part. I wish I'd taken the picture before I'd pulled up the carpet.

Here it is - the finished hallway.

We ripped out all but one rug in our house (because of one cat) but I like wood floors too. Now instead of hair you will have dust bunnies lol.

I know it was hard work, but the beautiful hardwood floor is worth it! When we moved in to this place, there was nasty brown commercial carpet in one of the bedrooms. It was AWFUL!! Whoever installed it stapled the pad to the floor EVERY SIX INCHES.... OMG, I thought I'd never get those staples out. And don't even get me started on the tackless strip!
