Heath Ledger

Stunned. That's the only way I can describe my reaction to the news of Heath Ledger's death at the age of 28. What a loss of a remarkable talent. It was in 1997 that Bebo and I first saw Heath in a short-lived TV series called Roar. For those of you unfamiliar with this show (and you really should have watched it) here is a montage from the series.

They say he was found surrounded by sleeping pills. I hope it was an accident, that he didn't mean to overdose. He had just finished filming his role of the Joker in the new Batman movie. I feel sorry for his little girl.

In other news, I have an apartment. A cute little 1 bedroom with a fireplace! I've always wanted a fireplace. I move the weekend of March 15th.

Congrats on the new apartment.

It's all over the news here about Heath. I feel sorry for his daughter. I hope it was an accidental overdose.

I just heard about it too and how sad, he was so young. I first saw him in the patriot and I thought he had such courage to star in Brokeback Mountain.

Oh a fireplace - sounds lovely! A time for new beginnings!

That's what I hope too Dru.

A Knights Tale was my favorite Heath Ledger movie.

Yes, a fireplace - I can't wait.

This is the first I heard of it. I'm stunned. He had such a future.

Congratulations on the apartment! I've always wanted a fireplace. I hope you enjoy it.
I heard about Heath Ledger this afternoon and I felt so bad for his little girl.
Yay! For you this a a step into a bright future.

Bailey Stewart said...

Yes Scott, stunned is the word.

Brandy - I've always wanted a fireplace too. I don't even know how to use one.

Yes, it's a very sad situation.

When I heard about this it felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach. It was such a shock. My daughter is beside herself. She went in her room and didn't come out for the rest of the night--cried herself to sleep. He was her hero.

Yay on the apartment!

I loved ROAR. I actually mentioned that on Tori's blog!

Good luck with the move - it sounds delightful.

I hadn't heard about Heath Ledger ... what a shock. :o(

I hadn't heard about Heath Ledger. How very sad.

Congrats on the apartment. And the fireplace. It'll be a fresh start for you.

Bailey Stewart said...

Jeanne - I haven't seen A Knight's Tale for a while, I'll have to borrow Bebo's copy. And I'll take care of your double posting.

Bailey Stewart said...

Tanya, I kinda know how your daughter feels - I did that when I'd heard James Stewart had died. It must be so much harder at that tender year.

Bailey Stewart said...

Melissa - yes Roar was a good series, too bad you, I and Bebo were the only ones who watched it.

Bailey Stewart said...

Diane - yes it was a shock to everyone.

Thanks, I'm kinda looking forward to the move now.

Bailey Stewart said...

Shirley - as I said to Diane, it was quite a shock. They still haven't determined exactly what happened.

Yes, I've always wanted a fireplace, except I'm not really sure how to start a fire? *gg*

Bailey Stewart said...

Hey Christa, I was just thinking about you.

Yes, tragic is right.

What a terrible tragedy no matter the cause.

So very sad about Heath Ledger. :(

Bailey Stewart said...

Thanks Susan, I'm kinda stoked myself.

Yes, very sad, no matter the circumstances.

Bailey Stewart said...

Yes Tori - very sad.

And yes, it does sound darling (I haven't actually seen it, just a similar apartment).

Yay on the apartment! I LOVED Roar. That's where I first saw him too and I thought, "He's going to go places."

Bailey Stewart said...

Thanks - the "we buy ugly houses" lady is coming by today to make an offer on the house. Sheesh, I hope it's a good one.

Yes, Bebo and I thought the same thing. And now that makes four of us who watched it.

My favorite movie - 10 Thigns I Hate About You. LOVED him in that. Makes me want to cry when I think of how many times I watched that and swooned over him, and now he's gone.

Congrats on the apartment!!!

Bailey Stewart said...

I've never seen that movie in it's entirety - just bits and pieces.

I'm actually getting stoked about the apartment.

I had just fallen asleep last night when my son woke me up to tell me about Heath Ledger. Even though it took me an hour to get back to sleep again (grr!) I felt so sad at the news. On a happier note, it's great you have a cute apartment and a fireplace will make it so cozy. The cats will love it.

Bailey Stewart said...

Siobhan, what makes it more sad is that it might have been accidental.

Yes, I think the cats will like the fireplace.

It's always a shock when bad things happen to those we consider to be on top of the world.

Congrats on the apartment.

Bailey Stewart said...

Yes Travis, you're right. And at the same time, I know there are others whose deaths are just as tragic, but we don't know about them.

Thanks about the apartment.

Toni Anderson said...

It is terribly sad. I was shocked yesterday. I just hope his family are okay. He was a great talent, and so young. I'm speechless really.

The news about the apartment is awesome. I'm very pleased for you. We have a fireplace and I love it this time of year!

Bailey Stewart said...

Yes, speechless is an appropriate response - so young, and yes, his poor family.

Thanks on the apartment. I know I'm gonna love that fireplace, once I learn how to use it.

Very sad about Ledger. Just...sad.

But I AM thrilled to hear about your new apartment!
I always wanted a fireplace too. :)

Bailey Stewart said...

I know Raine ... there isn't any other way to express it.

And thanks about the apartment - I can't wait until the week of March 10 when I can start moving in.

Congrats on the new digs...make sure you USE the fireplace, lol!

I'm still stunned about Heath. When I first saw it go across the bottom I couldn't believe it. I loved A Knight's Tale and 10 Things. Even have a poster of him for my office which I finally found a frame for. So sad for his little girl.

Yay on the apartment! And a fireplace, lucky girl! :)
