Olga tagged me, so here goes my favorites for the year 2006:
Favorite Book: This one was really hard because I’ve had so many favorites this year, so I took my top four picks and then scrambled them behind my back and picked one. A Sultan’s Ransom by Loreth Anne White.
Favorite Movie: I haven’t seen any of this years movies, just a few DVD’s from last year’s crop, so I’m going to say Batman Begins, which I saw earlier this year, so it counts.
Favorite News: News as in personal news, or News as in news stories? Personal – Let’s Pretend by Raine Weaver and Deadly Mistakes by Denise Belinda McDonald came out in print.
Favorite Show: Oh this one is hard too. If I had to pick one, I’d say CSI: Crime Scene Investigations.
Favorite Song: Huh? Don’t have one from 2006 – I don’t listen to a lot of “new” music. Oh wait – I do love Clay Aiken’s rendition of Without You.
I’m not going to tag anyone since the year has gone and the new one begun. But I vow to watch more new movies this year.
On another note – sorry I wasn’t around much yesterday (Sunday). I had a quiet day – sitting in my big ol’ chair reading something for someone (waving across the Trinity), then I wrote a little. That’s what I said, wrote a bit. Sitting in my big ol’ chair in the den, away from the study. And I don’t write longhand. I can’t keep this secret any longer – I have a laptop!!!!!! A new one. An “I can’t believe I spent that much money” laptop. I had to do something because my old computer, you know Damien the hemorrhoid, kept crashing Word and I can’t write without a computer. But then again, I’m not doing very good with this keyboard – I’ll get used to it. I’m not on-line completely with it because I have to wait until the 8th and the Circuit City tech comes here and puts in the encryption stuff – but when I turned it on the first time it automatically picked up the router and I couldn’t help myself. Raine says I deserve it – and I believe everything Raine tells me …
Hope y’all have a great January 1, I have some cleaning to do – yes, I know, write – but you don’t understand, the tech will be here next Monday and there is no way he’ll be able to maneuver anything on this desk, set up the docking bay, transfer some files, etc. with Mt. Everest threatening to become an avalanche of paperwork at any moment, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next weekend (long story, another blog).

Heeee-heee! Good for you, you not only wrote, but on your laptop!! Happy New Year Sweetie!
Raine says I deserve it...
Damn straight. ;-)
Congrats on the New Machine, and Happy New Year, sweetie!!
I agree with Raine, you totally deserve it :o) Enjoy!! And yay on the writing!!
And speaking as someone who just got a laptop this summer, it takes a good month at least to get used to the keyboard and break it in :D
Aha..I knew that's what it was..congratulations on the new laptop. You wrote a little..kewl. Again congrats and see 2007 has already started out good for you.
Congrats on the new laptop!!! You DO deserve it! What kind did you get?
HP Pavillion Entertainment PC, 1024MB, 120GB.
I got a HP for two reasons: Despite the problems with their computers, their laptops have a good reputation; Since I got a docking bay so I could use my HP printers, camera and scanner - if anybody is going to have a combatibility problem, it would be me. So this will keep that from happening. I just can't wait until I can get on-line with it.
That's awesome! A working computer is a MUST for a working writer :) Congrats!
YIPPEEEEE!!!! That is so great: congrats!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, HON!!!
Happy New Year--happy laptop!
Happy New Year, Bailey!! Enjoy the laptop.
Woo-hoo! Both on the laptop and writing! Hopefully you'll have a very productive year! Happy New Year!
What a fantastic gift to give yourself. The computer's nice, too. ;)
Congratulations on your new laptop! You do deserve it!
Happy New Year everyone!
Woo hoo!! You will be writing up a storm now!
Happy New Year, sweetie!
Congrats on the new laptop and thanks again. You're a peach! Yes, yes I'm writing, but even I deserve a break.
Favorite Book: Good Grief by Lolly Winston but I got lucky this year and had quite a few good reads (though to be honest there were some not so good reads I didnt finish).
Favorite Movie: GOsh I've watched so many I can't remember. Movies aren't something I track. Can I say Firefly? I know it's a show but...
Favorite News: There was lots of good news this year--I think maybe it's a tie between selling the same day as Steph, and Jordan's sale =)
Favorite Show: They always cancel my favorite shows =( I loved Daybreak and Kidnapped too. Oh OHhhhhh PRISON BREAK!
Favorite Song: I like too many songs but right now it's To the Left (I think that's the name of it)
By cleaning up, did you also mean changing your template? Either I'm too tired or you've been playing with blogger. Like the new color,, nice and bright!
I got tired of that green, plus not having things in bold showing up very well. Just messing. New year, new blog template?
I'm still working on it.
I'm writing, just taking a break. Like "Woman with many names" said, gotta take a break every once in a while.
Congrats on the laptop. Believe me, you'll get used to the keyboard. I switched to a laptop out of necessity and I'm pretty pleased with it. I bought a wireless mouse to go with it because I don't like the touch pads.
No more excuses, missy, time to get writing.
How about those Detroit Lions??
What Detroit Lions? I have no idea what you're talking about ...
I'm so glad you have a laptop. I'm craving one too but without working I'll have to wait a while longer. So, congratulations. You really deserved to get a new one. After all, you may be able to write off part of it as an business expense for the next couple of years. At least we can here. I don't know though if you have to declare a corporation or something.
As for breaking in a different keyboard, I can empathize. This one is one of the ergonomic ones from the early 1990s. It also has a lot of other languages capabilities when the driver is correct. I love it even though I can't find the second disk to set the letters and signs to fit the keyboard. But whenever I use a different keyboard, I'm always way off the keys especially with the right hand. So I can imagine the laptop must be quite a problem.
Are the keys much smaller or what is it on laptops? I can't say that I've ever used one or really looked at one.
Hope your new year is the opposite of the last--all good news.
I hate the laptop keyboard. I bought an ergo one that I hook to it and I set the laptop on the end of the chaise.
LOL Woman wiht Many Names....LOL
I am SO honored, Bailey, thank you!!
And major congrats on the laptop -- may it make that long and writing road a real pleasure.
