Just in Case

Well, they (being the power company and meteorologists) say that there could be power outages with this ice storm we are having. Great. This is one of those times I wish that dad had gotten around to building that fireplace. Have I mentioned that our gas furnace has an electric starter? And our stove is electric? Have I mentioned that it's going to be in the 20s? This could be interesting. So, if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, I may have lost my electricity. And with the roads purportedly being covered by inches of ice, I'm not going anywhere to get warm. Once again, this could be interesting.

It's midnight:11 and I'm off to bed - there's an electric blanket with my name on it.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as they're predicting. Think of it this way. It could be worse. We could get a few inches of snow along with that ice.

They're saying a "Wintry mix" for Monday. Is the arctic air getting that far south Christine?

Loreth - babies will only stay in the bed with me for a little while - they're too busy wrestling the rest of the night.

Off to bed for me - see y'all later.

Bailey, I hope your weathermen are as accurate as ours are.
We were told freezing rain would hit between 3AM and 11AM.
Well, at 7AM, it's 32 degrees. It's spitting, not raining and not a frozen drop in sight.
What a relief! We had the same power outage warnings.

Hope it passes you by and you get to stay warm.

Keep going on that word count. It's sounding good, Bailey.
**thumbs up**

Michele - I don't think they're going to be that far off the mark. It's 33 here and I just looked at the radar - rains about to hit. How much is another matter - we're on the eastern edge of the warning so might actually miss the heavy stuff. Uncle Bill's daughter and husband came in from Washington, and while Cheri is staying here with her mother for a while to get her settled (she's also the executor) her husband is supposed to fly back home today. Maybe. Flights are being canceled left and right. I talked to my brother in Missouri and he said they got inches of ice. Ice I don't like, snow is okay, in small doses. The problem is that a lot of stuff is coming down in the form of mist, which coats the roads, etc. in a thin layer of invisible ice.

At least I won't need electricity to write, for a while that is until the battery runs out.

I hate the cold! Thank goodness for your electric blanket!

*hugs* sweetie. I hope your power stays on. This is a nasty, nasty storm system.

Stay cozy, Bailey! If you have to wrestle the cats down and tape them to your body to stay warm! Or not. ;)

Bailey, hugs! I hope you won't have power out. I remember the time I had, in a thunderstorm, and though it wasn't that cold, it was pretty frightening. I hope you'll keep warm!

I hear you. Our gas boiler broke this morning. Luckily we put in a wood burning insert when we came to sunny Manitoba, otherwise we'd really be freezing our gazoolies off. And we have our electric (cross fingers)

Only -36C with windchill. But ice storms are the worst. Take care.

For the first time in my life I heard the term "icy fog." Out your way, not mine. I can remember losing electricy one winter for 3 days - not fun. Hope it doesn't happen for you.

I'm hoping you stay on the edge of the storm or better yet it misses you all together.

Keep up the writing!

I hope the ice storm came and went. Stay warm if it came and stayed.

We lost power last year from ice storms. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Seems I'm late t this post, hope the storm passed you by!
