New Year, New Look

Yeah, you're not in the wrong place, this is it. I got tired of that green, tired of things put in bold not showing up very well because of the background color. So I switched it.

Most of the work I did Sunday and Monday morning on Operation: Eden was, well, not exactly for nothing, but I did take out most of it. I'm making some changes, mostly with Eden. I've decided that I couldn't be funny enough with her as a disc jockey, so Eden Cantrell is now a ... ready for it ... pet psychic. Yeah, I can be funny there. I've also found her, Eden - the actress' name is Joanna Going - some of you may know her from a long time ago on the old soap Another World, then in the remake of Dark Shadows, or the movie Still Breathing with Brendan Frasier. In fact, it was pictures from that movie that made me decide to use Brendan for my hero. My goal this week is to see that movie (haven't seen it before), so I have the video here, just have to find time to sit down and watch it. I want to see the chemistry between them.

I also dropped Psycho Bill from the radio program in the book - it's just the Satellite Twins and they'll introduce each chapter. We'll see how that will work. Anyway, I work a 9 - 5 on Tuesday, then "stuff" to deal with on Wednesday, 9 - 5 on Thursday. So I'll see if I can fit some writing in on Wednesday. I'm usually so sore on Tuesday and Thursday nights after lifting boxes of books, reaching up to high shelves, stooping to low shelves, etc. But I'll see if I can work some writing in on those two nights, especially if I do Friday's spam on Wednesday so I don't have to sit down after work Thursday night and do it.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this writing stuff right now - voices are talking to me almost constantly. No nekkid muses yet, but I'm sure they're just held up in Bermuda or something and will show up soon.

Y'all have a great day and I'll check in periodically from work - I just can't answer from there.

Oooh, love Brendan Frasier!

I like the new look, it brighter and more clean looking.
Very glad to hear that the muses are running around still and the idea of a pet psychic does sound funnier. Also glad things ae moving right along with you in the writing department!
Try not to overdue at work.

I remember Joanna Going from the remake of Dark Shadows with Ben Cross very well. Absolutely stunning girl.

Like the new look.
Whip those muses into shape and go for it, lady! ;-)

Lis - she was, oddly enough, Lisa, and she was in the storyline with Rachel's son (the character name I can't remember - but it was Laurence Lau - Greg from All My Children). Sheesh, I used to be such a soap fiend.

Yes, I know what time it is, I couldn't sleep and so I thought I would check in. I've taken a hot shower, so maybe that will relax me enough. I love this laptop - so easy to get on-line, but I can't stay too long.

Yes Brandy - much cleaner.

Jeanne - I'll be sure to let you know when it's out. LOL

Raine - yes ma'am.

It's a great look for the blog. More with-it though not far out.

The actors look pretty good. though, being the kind of movie- and TV-less person I am, I have no idea who *they* are.

Pet psychic really sounds wild. Are there such people? But then who cares. This is a novel and as I've heard, most editors are eagerly looking for things that have never been done before.

Take it easy with your back if at all possible. The job sounds really daunting when I hear what it entails. I'd thought of going to work in bookshops once too, but it was all those heavy boxes that gave me pause and finally made me say "No can do."

Hope you're asleep by now. Nighty-night. I'm going in a few minutes as well and I'm an hour ahead of you.

Love the new look, too. Great news about the laptop and that you're writing up a storm. I've got a feeling that 2007 is going to be a good year for you.

I had intended to do a lot of blogging this morning before work, but since I woke up at 7:30 (don't ask, I haven't figured that one out) and have to leave for work at 8:30, I'm too rushed. In fact, I just used the laptop this morning because the computer takes too long. Gotta go, no really, I have to, Sheesh, this day isn't starting out right.

I really like the new look too. Much, much better. I didn't know I didn't like the old one until I saw this.

You sound very good. I haven't been reading daily, so I'm a little behind. Sorry about that, but its not personal. I've been away period.

Yeah, this year in football turns out a lot like more of the same. But I guess we can be thankful we have a promising young quarterback, even if he doesn't yet deserve the Pro Bowl distinction.

What do you say? Offensive line upgrades, or still yet but more defense, defense, defense?

I love the new look, much easier to read and brighter!

I like the idea of the Satellite Twins introducing each new chapter. Brendan Frasier is a great choice for your hero. Don't worry I'm sure the nekkid muses will be showing up soon. :)

Have a good day and keep up the writing!

I like the new look - it's so crisp and airy. I remember Joanna Going, she was also in a Columbo special. Lawrence Lau..wow a name from the past.

Good news on the writing. The muses will continue to flow with bright ideas.

I have been writing too (as you know from the chicas) it's a good feeling isn't it!

Glad to hear your writing is picking up. You sound enthusiastic and that's great to see.

I'd get a lot more writing done if I didn't feel the need to play with my blogs skins so much. I applaud you for keeping yours as long as you did.

Bailey Stewart said...

Rene - while I don't change it as much as you do yours, this is the third (I think) one I've had in less than a year.

Yay on the muses running about!

Oooh -- love the sleek new look, Bailey. AND the pet psychic idea!

I smiled when I read "pet psychic" :) Will your voices please prod my voices with a sharp stick?

I'm thinking Rachel's son was Matt? I remember Leo from Charmed played him for awhile.
But the name Lisa sounds familiar (lol) on the show

Bailey Stewart said...

Marty I would, except they would like it too much.

Lis - Matt was Rachel's son with Mac Cory. This was the older son. I think you're talking about Julian McMahon who was on Charmed and is now on Nip/Tuck - he was in the storyline with, oh what was the character's name (played by Judy Evans), she was Mac's illegitimate daughter, anyway, he didn't play Rachel's son. This son was married to Marley and the father of her baby. I'll have to look it up because that's going to bug me (I hate it when I can't remember trivia).

Bailey Stewart said...

Lis - Laurence Lau was Jamie Frame. Jamie was involved with Vicky, not Marley. Anyway, Julian was Ian Rain (Judy Evans was Paulina Cory). Joanna Going played Lisa Grady. God I love the internet.

I couldn't remember if it was Victoria or Josette. Thanks! I actually didn't remember her until I saw her on an episode of CSI (original).
