Bored

I have absolutely nothing to blog about. It’s been one of those weeks, you know, when I could use a bear. A goose. Big hairy spider and a dead husband walking. That’s part of the problem with living alone, I have no one to blame for eating all of the cookies, except for myself. (Did I mention they were the chocolate chip cookies that I’d baked for Jill? – yeah, she knows, I’m forgiven … I think) If only the cats would act out – back talk me, give me funny things to talk about, but no – they stick to cat stuff, nothing out of the ordinary. Darn it. So I guess it’s time for that “I’ve got nothing to blog about” subject – Whatcha reading? I have a stack, no make that stacks, of books next to the bed.

That's my post, and I'm sticking to it.

Hmmm, I have Innocent in Death, No Safe Place by JoAnn Ross, and Games of Command by Linnea Sinclair. I just finished Kisses to Go by Irene Peterson.
Sorry to hear you are bored. Hope things perk up for you soon!

Went to Ikea Saturday and bought another bookcase. I'm guessing it will take another six month to fill it (it's already half full) but the shelves are deep enough to fit two deep.

I am starting The Texas Ranger by Jan Hudson. A May American Romance.

My brother came by the other day to see if this thing (my computer vocabulary, don't you know) he had fit my computer so I could get one of those mouse with the wheel in the middle. IT WORKS. So now I have a mouse with the wheel for easier scolling.

There's a new show coming on called October Road. The commercial made it sound like a plot from a book I may have read. Guys comes back to town after 10 years and runs into his ex-girlfriend and her 9 year old son who may or not be his. There's more to the story but that was what they showed on the commercials.

Well at least they weren't her girl scout ones

Bailey, I don't think you mentioned what you were reading?

Bailey Stewart said...

I think that's why she forgave me. :)

I've seen those advertisements. I'm going to try to remember to watch it.

I can't. It's a book that I'm reading to judge for a contest. Anonymous, you know.

You cookie thief you! :o) I wanted to make fudge or cookies tonight and ran out of choco chips, so I just ate the half bowl of choco chips instead. Good fix anyway.

Reading 'Good Girl's Guide To Witchcraft' by Mindy Klasky right now. Really good and funny (ehq's got a great price on it right now). Next up I think is Innocence and Impropriety by Diane Gaston.

Ooh, Someone (Lis) is reading a Good Girls Guide to Witchcraft? Is it really good? Worth the price new?

Hey! No cookies for US???

That's OK, had some last night at my movie group.

We watched Good Nigh, Good Luck .. that movie with George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr and some other talented actor who played that journalist Murrow.
Intense film!
Good cookies.

Hi Bailey,

I'm trying to make the rounds. I haven't forgotten about you. I've been so busy working on my novel and with work. Yeah. Blah blah blah.

Anyway, I just picked up a stack of books at random from the library. One is Ironweed, another is called The Grid, and another (not so random) is a Wilbur Smith title, but I can't remember which. I've admired his writing in the past, so I thought I would give it a shot and see if, in my current state of mind, I would pick any stylistic tips up from him.

I'm reading Smart and Sexy and loving it! I think it's one of the best books Jill has written. You are a brave lady eating the cookies meant for Jill!!

You could never be boring!

I'm finally on the 3rd "book" of the WIZARD FOR HIRE collection of Jim Butcher. I also have PARIS UNDER SEIGE by E. E. Hunt going right now. He is a retired Episcopal priest (former Dean of the Paris church) currently attached to St. Matthews Cathedral in E. Dallas where I attend church. It's weird sometimes, I can "hear" his voice as I'm reading.

I'm reading The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason. My chaptermate recommended it saying she couldn't put it down. I'm a couple of chapters in. I like it, but can't say I love it yet.

I'm reading RAIN of FIRE by Linda Jacobs. She's set the story around the volcano in Yellowstone and what would happen if it blew. I'm hooked!

I just started Vanishing Act by Jodi Picoult - one of my new favorite authors. I just finished rereading The Great Gatsby and it wasn't much better the second time around - I blame reading it on my daughter's cat that I've been babysitting (get a kitten, Bailey, that will liven things up). She fell asleep on my lap and since we're just becoming friends I didn't have the heart to move her and it was the only book nearby lol.

I haven't seen a posting by Jill. Are you sure she forgave you? We are talking cookies here!!!!

Cookies? Did someone say cookies? I'm dreaming of chocolate chip cookies. Sigh. Loved that pic of your cats by the laptop the other post. I've just started reading "Liars and Saints" by Maile Meloy - "a family story of deceit and loss, but also of deep and abiding human love." It promises to be interesting.

I didn't say I was boring ... I said I was bored ... sheesh people.

Hi Bailey,
I've been enjoying the observations offered in Janet Evanivich's "How I Write: Secrets of a Bestselling Author."
And regarding the cookie eating when bored, "Shame on you for eating all those chocolate chip cookies," he said as he reached into the bag of Famous Amos raisin oatmeal cookies...
