Ode to Spring

So it’s Spring, a time when every man’s fancy turns to love and every allergist orders their new BMW. Yep, allergy season. Flowers bloom and cast their sickening pollen into the four corners of the globe, instantly sending innocent humans into raging bulges of histamine. Sort of the Incredible Hulk of the sinus world. Spring, when the winds still sweep down from the Plains, pulling with them gusts of cedar and any other mountainous, plainous, regionalous piece of gritty dirt and grain it can gather. Spring, which brings rain, which in turn feeds the humidity level and nurturing the growth of tiny armies of spore ready to pounce with merciless fury on every human being. No man, woman or child are spared this ravaging menace. Spring will get you, in one form or another, and yet, our government allows it to continue. Everything else that can make us sick is outlawed, but not Spring. I blame the Spring lobbyist; those bastions of non-allergy mutants that rejoice in the coming of Spring.
Now that we know how I feel about Spring, what's your favorite season?

Hah, you asked the wrong person. I'm going to picky and say "late" spring. After the mud has cleared up, but before it gets too hot and the insects come out.

And I'll choose the week in fall when all the leaves change color.

And a couple of weeks in summer when the trees are in full leaf, but the caterpillars have yet to attack.

Winter. Um. Not so much unless I get new boots and a new coat and waaaaaaay better mittens. Oh. And cross country skis. Until then the jury's out on winter!

Fall. Even though the ragweed is in full force then, at least I can deal w/ that. And it's pretty & it's not so HOT & it's not cold yet.... and my birthday is in the fall... ;>

Since I have allergies all year long. I'm going to say Fall. Where the nights begin to cool, the humidity starts to diminish and the leaves start to turn those glorious vibrant colors. I also like Winter with the bare branches of sleeping trees and the icy blast of air whenever you step out of your home, that seem to invigerate us.

Sorry Spring is not treating you well.

Poor Littlest Monster has had a really bad ear infection going on 3 weeks thanks to allergies. Hopefully the uber-antibiotic combined with allergy medicine will do the trick. Hugs, hang in there! My favorite season is fall.

A favourite season? Tricky. I suppose that has to be winter (as long as it snows). Or spring (as long as it's bright and sunny). It's summer I don't like.

For us here in New England, its the return of tick season. The dog brought in two just the other day. We found them crawling up my wife's leg. Yay.

I have sinus trouble 95% of the year, so as far as that goes, no one season is good for me.

Here in Arkansas, I prefer spring and fall. Winter's too cold. Summer's too hot and humid. I really, really hate humidity.

When I lived in Arizona, though, I loved all seasons pretty much equally. :)

I'm a Fall lover. It is a beautiful time of year here in the mountains surrounded by trees changing colors. Besides my allergies are all year long! :(

It's not spring here, we got a foot of snow last night.

My favorite season is autumn. Oddly that's when my allergies kick in the worst - when things start to die off. Apparently I'm allergic to dead things.

Lol! My "fave" season used to be winter, except for Christmas and New Year time. I used to get sick every winter - you could count on it!

I'd have to say autumn, although I do adore spring with its burst of color and new life.

Funny, Bailey. I don't really have a special season. My allergies can happen any time of the year. Though rain helps. Good thing I'm in the PNW.

I like spring the best because of all the pretty flowers. Happily I don't get hay fever. Hope you don't suffer too much. I'm going to be away for a few days now so take care of yourself, my friend.

rotflmoa! Well, Spring is my favorite as plants, flowers, trees and everything comes back to life after hibernating through dark a dreary winter. And no, I have no known allergies. Breathing just fine here. *gg*

I like Spring/Fall best even with the ragweed and Pine pollen.
It is so freaken hot and humid here in Summer and it lasts until late October.
Damn that global warming. If al gore can invent the internet, you'd think her could do something about the ozone....

Oh, poor Jill!
Although I have horrible allergies, they are year long so I still love the new beginnings of spring.

Any season where I won't have allergy and sinus attacks. I survive best in late fall.
