Sunday’s movie: Transformers (4 stars)
For months I thought I had a problem reading. I’ve been reading Sasha White’s “Lush” on the computer, and although I’ve been enjoying it (especially the second story), I keep having problems finishing it. Then Loreth Anne White’s “Seducing the Mercenary” came in the mail Friday and I’m almost half-way through it. What’s the difference? One is on the computer, the other in my hands. I wasn’t having a problem reading, I was having a problem with ebooks. I thought that buying the laptop would help me with this problem, but when I get on the computer I want to play games, IM, etc. – everything except read. So I apologize to Sasha, who was hoping for a review. I should have bought the book when I saw it in the store. I’m just not an ebook reader, I have to come to terms with that. I don’t think, even for the Shalvis, that I’m going to be able to read anything longer than a short story on the computer. And now that I’m on book restriction (I can’t buy any books at all), that’s going to really hurt.

You liked Transformers? OMG. I couldn't wait to rip the DVD out. LOL! It made me nervous. It just had all that noise, you know with the explosions. I did not like it, but my kids LOVED IT! :-)
Oh, Bebo and I absolutely loved it!
I need to rent it when it comes out. Glad you figured out what the problem was with the reading. I can't even critique on screen. I have to print out the pages in order to read it!
I'm glad you figured out the problem you were having reading. I am not a big ebook reader. I have a harder time concentrating and since I can't take it with me, it's even harder to remember where I left off and pick it back up again.
Hubs saw the Transoformers movie and really enjoyed it.
I hope you are having a good weekend and that your week goes well!
I'm like you, I tried to read an ebook on the computer and I can't. I like my book where I can turn the pages and the book can go with me. I also tried reading on the palm, don't like it. Tried listening to a book, couldn't concentrate, tried printing out pages, too scattered. I just prefer my hardcover or paperback books.
I loved Transformers especially as I remember the cartoon show.
Have a good Monday.
I'm glad it's not just me. I can't read on screen, either. I hate it. I have to hold the book and turn the pages. I can't edit on screen, never mind read. Besides, books have their own smell and I like it.
I can't read books on the computer. I go bug-eyed after a few pages and get a headache. Even if I'm doing long revisions on my own ms I print it off. I'm a book in the hand kind of girl definitely.
I read short ebooks on the computer, no way anything any longer. I feel your pain on the book restriction! It's hard to buy on limited funds. :(
I wasn't a big fan of Transformers - they had me until the transformers were at the kids' house and then I sort of lost interest.
I can't read ebooks, either. I spend enough time on the computer as it is - all day at work and then my writing.
I'm with the rest of you... give me a book in my hand. I have this love affair with the words on the page, and the smell and feel of the paper... and no matter what format you look at, its not the same if it's on the screen. And forget editing or critiquing on screen - yikes!
Transformers was great, but I agree it was a little loud. :>
I can't read ebooks either. I spend enough time working on my own writing on the comp, I need the break when I read :)
I'm not good at reading ebooks. I spend so much time writing at the computer when I'm done I just want to veg out somewhere else and I don't have a laptop.
I'm looking forward to the transformer movie!!
I loved the Transformers but then Josh Deshumel(sp?) is just drool worthy.
I don't like reading off the computer either. I had enough of a hard time with on line reads that I have never even tried ebooks. And it was even worse when I had the smaller screen. I find too that there are so many other things to do on the computer, reading is way down on the list.(it's not even on my list)
