That's the journey of a writer, long and winding. Ups and downs, rejections, joys, acceptance, laughter, tears, community, and yet a sense of loneliness. The road is bumpy, often full of potholes, and yet it's one we gladly follow, for we are writers and writing is a part of our soul. Join me on my journey.

Because I Can
My cuddlers. The black one is Aidan and the other is Bailey. Aren't they precious? For some reason Aidan is the friend of all kittens - and he's a male! Bailey is 9 months old and Aidan is ... older (I don't remember, let's see, um, 3 or 4?).
Just a little humor for your Sunday enjoyment:
Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road. As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride. With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.
Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.
"What's in the bag?" asked the old woman.
Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."
The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said, "Good trade."

Brilliant, Eve. I've got a couple of bottles of wine in the cupboard ... and could easily trade them this morning. :o)
What a gorgeous pic. How can you get any work done when you've such beauties to cuddle?
Shirley - *gg* And the beauties aren't always cuddle worthy - especially when they are fighting under the bed at 3:00 in the morning :o
Our cats are the same. They keep you awake and then sleep all day on the best beds in the house. They're not stupid, are they?
Shirley - That's exactly why they are so cute - so they can get away with a lot of things.
Peggy - Yes, and they know it too.
(I love the delete post feature - I can correct my typos!)
HAHAHA *ggg*
there are days.....
Very cute. I'm supposed to be cleaning LOL.
Dennie - *gg*
Toni - and you are doing an exceptionally good job of it.
Loved the joke! It was a joke wasn't it? *gg*
Isn't that the truth about cats! I still love them though. :-)
Susan - one can never tell ;-)
And Bailey coos when he purrs.
Hi Eve- Gotta remember those moments.
Toni- did my cleaning yesterday, even have supper all ready to go, just have to grate chese for the chicken fahjatas(sp?)
I thought this morning it wasn't that late so I stayed in bed to finish reading Sean and then got up,took my shower, had my breakfast and coffee and turned on my computer just to remind me that the clocks were set ahead last night. Now the day was half over and I was doing so good too.
Starting a new book today. It's called(wait for it Eve) The Cowboy's Return by Linda Warren.
Christa - now how did I know it had the word "Cowboy" in it? *gg*
We sort of played a trick on mom (okay, no sort of to it, we did play a trick on mom). We didn't change the clocks last night. I didn't want to get up at what would really be 5:00 a.m., mom knows (most of the time) to stay in the bed until 7:00 - so I was able to sleep to the theoretic 7:00 and so on. I know, bad girls.
P.S. I'm supposed to be cleaning too - I did move some books, does that count?
Oooohh, pretty babies!! So sweet and innocent. Haha, don't roll your eyes at me! Sorry about your not getting to write last night, but, sometimes other things are more important. I hope you enjoyed your chat!!
Brandy - yep, don't let looks fool you *gg* And yes, I did enjoy the chat, I hadn't talked to her in months. She'll be here (well, not here but at her parent's house) Easter weekend. I'm really looking forward to her visit.
Y'all, Bebo is dragging me screaming out to Borders because we all know that I'd much rather stay home and clean the house than go off to a bookstore and drank a cup of fancy coffee *gg*
Lucky guess.
Don't have too much fun at Borders.
lol, good joke!! Such a cute picture. Enjoy borders :o)
Love the picture and the joke is hilarious! Will have to remember that one.
Brilliant joke! And the kitties are so sweet. Bailey is such an unusual colour and I love black cats like Aidan. We're debating whether to get a brother or sister for Charlie. I think he gets lonely for feline company which is probably why he wants to be out so much...
I bought "Share the Darkness" a Blaze by Jill Monroe; "Bootcamp" an anthology by Leslie Kelly, Heather MacAllister and Cindi Myers; and "Star Quality" an anthology by Lori Foster, Lucy Monroe and Dianne Castell. I think I've read the last one, at least the cover looks real familiar (and it was published in 2005), but the stories don't look familiar - I hate that! And it wasn't as if my TBR pile was emptying out. *gg*
Except for the colors you can't tell where one cat ends and the other begins.
Actually, it took me a while to get the joke. Lamebrain!!Definitely not too bright today.
Those nice "get-caught-up-with-friends-or-relatives chats" can be very comforting and enlightening. I had one from my one aunt at New Year's. I was a little stunned at some of the things she told me but after thinking about them a bit, they seemed part of a pattern. I even saved the message she left for me when she couldn't get me right away. So now I "have to" listen to it every 2 weeks or so. It's sometimes so wonderful to hear someone in the family say "I love you". I also kept the "Happy Birthday" my sister, niece and great-nephew sang for me. (The machine asks me if I want to delete my recorded messages every 14 days.)
Sometimes you have to just treasure those little moments.
Yes Ruby, we do indeed need to treasure them.
Very cute. :)
Brandy - just for you I counted them - 59 books. Yep, you read that right. Aren't I pathetic?
Jordan - cute works. :)
Eve, I don't call that pathetic! I call that wonderful. It's not that my Dh would mind if I bought more books, it's that I would feel guilty.
Oh no - see the re-count on Monday's blog. It's pathetic.
If your cousin had a phone she would surely call you! :-) 12 weeks til i get a real paycheck again....counting the days to an apt and phone and long asthma-inducing conversations with you!
-joan
Actually, that was our cousin Cheri - Alice's daughter. But yes, we used to have long asthma inducing phone calls - I have unlimited minutes, so when you get that phone let me know.
