Here and There

Stuck for a blog today, so thought I'd just send you to a couple of places.

I got this from Kelly Parra's blog. I am totally psyched about this book. I've never read anything by Anne Frasier, but I want this book. It's called Pale Immortal and is due out in September 5, Onyx Books and Penguin/NAL. I'm planning to look for other books by this author. You really need to go check out the site for Pale Immortal - there's a really chilling video/trailer promo. I've never seen anything like this for a book before and I think its a wild idea. Very professional. Come back and tell me what you think.

Jason's fiction contest is almost over - you have until 8:00 p.m. eastern time tonight. Go over and read the entries, there's some good stuff there - including Scott's entry.

Jordan has some interesting information from the Desert Dreams Conference - there are two posts so check them both out.

Oh, and great news from The Shalvis. Her book Seeing Red has been nominated for a National Reader's Choice Award in the single title category. WTG Jill!

That's it - don't forget that Friday is book draw day.

Reluctant Reunion word count: 8,652
Tonights word count: 1,089
Good nights sleep: Huh?

Great on the writing! Pale Immortal sounds very interesting. I love the blog entries, and how the author sets up the whole story. Very intriguing. I added the book to my wish list.

Brandy - I'm planning on the rest tonight - not going to write as I have to straighten the house tomorrow (funny, it doesn't look crooked) because I'm having another game night Saturday night.

Scott - both of your entries are good. Everbody needs to go and read them.

Dennie - the information in the post "...Desert Dream Conference" (because I can't remember the entire title of the post) has the most information. Seems there's a lot of new lines opening up.

Joely - this promo has gotten me so stoked on this book.

"everbody" - well, that's that new Southern word, we like to take out syllables (everybody - sheesh)

ah more books.

I know I had to do laundry this morning so I'm up early(8, hey that's early for me) only to find out I am one quarter short for one load of laundry(insert cursing smilie). Off I go to the store, while there I figure I can pick up some necisties(sp?, no coffee yet) like bread. I got $5 worth of quarters and loonies so I know there is enough for another load next time.
Eve- If you check out yesterday's blog, you'll see why I commented so late. Plus I'm really into this Denison book.

All looks good :)

Christa - I saw yesterdays blog. Good thing you're name isn't appearing anywhere else first, or I'd have to rescind your Eve is the Center of the World membership *ggg*

I am one quarter short That's because you're blond and we love you. Have some coffee - I'll try to not send you emails and make you spew coffee all over your keyboard ... too much.

I'm going to have to check because I think I've read that book?!?

Bailey Stewart said...

Hey Toni - you definitely have to check out the stuff on Jordan's blog.

Congrats on the writing! Oh Eve, Hugh Jackman is going to be on Jay Leno tomorrow night. :)

Scott - Your our stories are great! Good luck with the contest.

Tomorrow Night! Oh boy, set that VCR.

Meretta said...

Phew! I made it back. Thanks for blog the trip, Eve.

Bailey Stewart said...

I've just been over to Jason's reading some of the entries. There's some really great stuff over there, and a few names other than Scott's that I recognized.

Bailey Stewart said...

You're welcome Meretta. Just to get you out of the house for a while. *gg*

Dang I will have to make a point of staying up late to cruise these other blogs...I hardly have enough time to make it here once in a while :) well and Jo's ....gotta go there you know :) She is my favorite author!!!

I will have to go read Scott's entry and check out Pale Immortal.

Oh and I did NOT get an invite to Game night! What's up with that?? :) :) :)

Bailey Stewart said...

If you think you can make it here by 5:00 Saturday night you're invited! Yeah, Jo's your "Jill".

Thanks Eve and Scott! The contest has been absolutely amazing. The quality of the writing, the number of visits (over 5000 hits!!), everything. Thanks for helping make it such a success. :)

BTW--still time to enter.

Oh, and if you haven't read Before I Wake by Anne Frasier yet, I highly recommend it.

Bailey Stewart said...

Thanks Jason - I had thought about entering but since I've finally got my mojo working on the current WIP I didn't want to devote my sparse late-night writing time to anything else. But the stuff looks good. Yes, I've been thinking about Before I Wake

Zinnia said...

Oh! Oh! Come visit me! LOL! I have a new e-book out and another to be released soon!

Why I'm at it, go visit the managing editor of my publisher. She has some cool stuff on her Big Lion blog.

Thanks for the links Eve! :O)

Bailey Stewart said...

You're welcome Lis.

Hi Zinnia - thanks for stopping by. I'll check things out.

Pale Immortal definitely looks interesting. The video clip is good, definitely paints a mood. Thanks for sharing.

ppzWow! Love the sound of Pale Immortal! And book trailers? Who knew? What a cool idea!

Sorry you are not resting well, Eve.

Sandy J said...

Sorry, don't know where the ppzWow came from. Supposed to be just wow!

Bailey Stewart said...

Loreth - I'm getting this book

Sandy - ppzWow is short for pizzazz Wow. This is a really neat marketing idea.

I had a brief moment where I thought I could fit Jason's contest into my busy schedule - unfortunately, it didn't work out. Maybe next time. :-)

Eve, thanks for the link! And it's so great your passing the information on about PI. =D

Oops-- it's so great you're passing the information on about PI. Hate it when I do that. ;)

OK I finally made out to look at Pale Immortal...it does look good!

So, if you think this looks good why have you not read the Dark-Hunter Series...I think they rock!!!! Of course they are not technically vampires...but dark none the less :)

OH I am not sure if I can afford the plane ticket this late in the game :) DAMN! I loved the last game night :)

No, I'm not dead.
Yes, I did get the book.
My drug appears to have removed all urge to blog, write or otherwise create (unless it involves knitting or crocheting). I've become a knitting fiend. Other than that, it's working splendidly.

Bailey Stewart said...

Well, since I answered you on the other post, I'll just reiterate here. Are they making you feel better? Miss you, but you need to take care of yourself and you'll return to blogland when you are doing better. We'll be here. Or maybe not since I have changed blog hosts 3 times in less than a year. *gg*

Well, I still read blogs, I just rarely bother to post since I can't think of anything vaguely witty (or even relevant) to say. :) If you switch again, might I humbly recommend www.motime.com? They're my favorite.
