Birthdays

No, it isn't anyone's birthday, just something I found on Tori's blog. Go to Wikipedia and put your birthdate (month and day only) in the search field. Now, list 3 events that happened on that day; 2 people who share your birthday; one person who died. Here's mine:

1914 - World War I: Known as the Christmas truce, German and British troops on the Western Front temporarily cease fire. (Visitors to my old blog know I love this)

1939 - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is introduced by Montgomery Ward Stores. (Yeah Monkey Wards)

1977 - Prime Minister of Israel Menachem Begin meets in Egypt with President of Egypt Anwar Sadat

Birthdays:

1821 - Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross

1924 - Rod Serling

Death: (this would have to be a terrible day to have a loved one die)

1995 - Dean Martin (mother loves to listen to ol' Dino)

Plan for Sunday - I'm going to sleep in the morning and then Bebo and I might watch either Batman Begins or Good Night, and Good Luck. Any preferences?

Whatcha going to do today?

Hmmm, I have no idea what I'm going to do. Clean the bathroom my kid barfed in. Plan Easter brunch. Get some writing done.

Yeah, I think we're leaning towards Batman too. Bebo and I have decided to just start buying the DVD's of the movies we want to see because 1)it's still cheaper than the two of us going to the movies 2)they've closed down the Blockbuster (that we'll go to) that's nearest us and the others are just way out of the way. Now some of you might say - "why not Netflix?" I'm not going to pay a monthly fee - we don't watch movies every month so it would be a waste.

I'm going to finish reading The Penalty Box by Deirdre Martin and watch the Samsung/RadioShack 500 from your home state of Texas.

I hope you and Bebo enjoy the movie! :) How is Devlin doing today?

Not too bad, not too good - it's one of those in between days. I am going to have to talk to the vet again - he's developed a side effect to the antibiotics which is not great - let's just say the couches are now covered. And it isn't coming out his mouth. Although he's doing a little of that too. He's supposed to get another blood test on Friday to see if the antibiotics are doing anything to the infection - I vote for a couple of days sooner.

You've got some fun things on your birthday! And I'm rather fond of ol' Dino myself. :)

Well, my birthday has the "funnest" stuff of all *gg*

As someone who is on a different antibiotic every few weeks, I understand why your vet wants to wait until Friday. It can take that long for it to really kick in and hopefully work its magic.

Sorry to hear about your couches, the side effects can be nasty!

My cousin found a place that will do that - the boys each have one when they were born - it's kinda neat!

Not doing anything exciting. Writing. Hockey game later. That's about it :o)
Hope Devlin adjusts to the meds soon!

Susan - he's been on it since the 23 of March - I know it won't be gone but I would think they could find out if it's even working. The other one didn't work at all. Anyway, if not maybe there's something else she can add - after all 9 pills a day is such an uneven number ... sheesh!

Dennie - as the family historian, I do it myself along with picture boards for birthdays. It's always a big hit - but I didn't know that most of it would be on Wikipedia. I also include movies, TV, music. It takes quite some time.

Lis - you and me both.

Well, I just got up for the shortest long nap planned. Kept getting woken up. Guess I'll sleep someday.

Yay Peggy - you, Lis and Rene are the only writer's that have mentioned writing. Dennie's had the house to herself and is goofin' off I guess and my thought processes are not the best right now. Keeping my fingers crossed on the agents for you.

Well, I had intended to go out a bit and do some non-buying shopping. I wrote a letter to one of my cousins "quickly" before going and I'm still here at the computer. And by now, almost 1800 our time, the stores are already closed.

Did you get to go to your family fling? And how did Saturday with the Boss go?

And I just learned from Jill's blog that I'm getting more stupid because I'm losing weight. I wondered why my typing has been so weird lately. I think one word and write an entirely other one. Talk about sheesh.

Poor Devlin, pour you, poor couch! Hope things get cleared up soon.

We had this neat calendar here for a while. At first it was all the events in your birth year. Then they added a CD of music and maybe speeches, I think. I got my one brother his birth year and then him and his wife their wedding year. They'll have their 30th Ann. this year. They've been married more than half their lives.

On my, you just reminded me that my brother David and his wife will have been married 30 years May 1. I'll have to do something. And yes, that's over half his life and just exactly half of hers. At least I have a couple of weeks.

Saturday with the boss? Well, I'm saving that for Tuesday's blog.

The Christmas Truce is such a sad story. For a short time, sanity prevailed, but then the curtain of madness dropped once again.

I don't know Joely - may not seem very exciting to you - but I'm quite envious.
