Hello Saturday

I'll be back to regular business by Monday. Meanwhile, here's another of the stash of bad jokes I've been keeping for the blog. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter.

Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A blond lady walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole," said Bubba, "but we don't have a ladder." The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches," before walking away. Junior shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a dumb blond? We ask for the height, and she gives us the length!."

Aah, great one. She put one over on them, that dumb blond.

Probably wasn't the way it was supposed to be measured, though.

Glad you're feeling better, Eve. Hope you're getting a lot more sleep.

I know it's not really a comfort now but sometimes we go through all these types of grief in order to make us more compassionate towards others because we have walked, at least to some extent, in their shoes.

When my sister miscarried 3 times, that was her overriding thought: it'll make me more compassionate. So few people are really compassionate. Maybe it will even be useful someday for a book that you write. My sister's a nurse so compassion is a quality she needs to cultivate--but I think we all do. I can remember people asking me how I was doing. Sometimes I'd say something like "Oh, not too well right now." "That's good, that's good," would be the response. Few people really listen to others any more and as a result few people will admit to not feeling very well. I'm glad you're able to tell us when you don't. I feel that you trust us with at least some of your problems and worries. Thank you for that. And I know you will definitely be more mindful of what others are feeling. Think of Mother Theresa who was one of the most compassionate people I know of, other than Christ himself. She was able to "move mountains" because of her compassion.

In spite of all your woes, think of what Easter means. Hope you and your family and friends have a happy one.

Hugs and prayers.

I ended up doing something reeal stupid today(shh we won't tell anyone I'm blond). It's a nice day out so I get my walker all ready for a walk to the grocery store and Wall-mart(they are in the same plaza along with Canadian Tire, a dollar store and Goodwill). I get to Wal-mart and it is nuts in there, so many people(hello it's a Sat, it's the Sat. before Easter. Need I say more). So I get my Little Debbie treats(the Honey Buns are great for breakfast) and then I go over to the No Frills. It's not so busy(cause everyone is at Wal-mart). Now I'm home and going to lay on the couch with a book the rest of the day.

Dennie - *snort*

Diane - I'm glad you are feeling better.

Toni - Yeah, I can't take Bebo anywhere - what can I say, she probably had just come from Sasha's site. As for Dennie - we'll blame it on the Texas heat.

Rene - I'm trying to find my sense of humor, which means I'm being terribly punchy right now. I just want there to be something for people to see when they come here - too much drama lately too.

Christa - Duh!

Thanks for the laugh! Men really are sensitive when it comes to measurements! LOL

I hope you know we're all here for you and wish there was more that we could do for you. Hugs
