Please Tell Me It's Not Wednesday

It's going to be one of those days where I beg for a bear. I have nothing to blog about. My mind is too tired for anything deep and profound. Except, if I had a bear, I would train it to go and destroy the drum set of the kid next door. Or should I say the uncle of the kid next door. The one that goes outside every day and bangs on the drums while I'm trying to take a nap. That's right folks - no nap since last Thursday. This does not make Eve a happy camper. I have an assignment that I volunteered for (gladly) that I have to have done by tomorrow night (Thursday morning at the latest - but I hate to be the latest). I thought I could get some done tonight, but I don't think these little green eyes will stay up to midnight. I do have some more cleaning to do (I swear, I have a scanner), but that will take a backseat to this other stuff. The voices? They've kidnapped Jill's Malibu Barbie and have taken off for the Bahamas. More power to them - I didn't particularly want to go to the Bahamas anyway. As much as I hate heat, could you really see me enjoying it there? But that does bring me to a question. If someone were to come to you right now and said you could drop everything to go anywhere in the world that you desired and that time would be suspended so that you wouldn't have to worry about missing any deadline while you were gone (money was no object) - where would you go and would you take someone with you? Me - oh, I'd head straight for Ireland and I would take Bebo, of course. Only one week - and don't worry about the job, the kids or anything - remember, time has been suspended and when the week is up, you'll be back to the exact time and place you were when you left. Come on, don't tell me you're not sitting there wishing you could escape for a little while. We won't tell anyone where you've gone - honest :)

New Zealand!
I would LOVE to take in a traditional Maori ceremony..the chants and music, the war paint, the clothing (or lack thereof), the flora and fauna. It's a beautiful country with amazing cultural flavor.
The ONLY way I'd ever get there in real life would be if money really was no object..*sigh*

Thanks for the opportunity to fantasize.... :-)

Oh, I love fantasies. Thanks for dropping by Michele. Oh, and Rene, if you come by before I get to yours - it's because you have me thinking about my answer. Great post!

I'm not sure where I would go Eve, but I suppose it would be in Europe somewhere, just to go see it. I was always fascinated by the Joan of Arc story, so I wouldn't mind to go see her old village of Domremy in France, but from what I understand it would be a disappointment.

Grrrrr, we had someone with drums living above us in downtown St. Paul. He would sit outside on the patio and pound away. Thankfully, we had quick security/management on site who put a stop to it. They also caught MIL smoking in the stairs when she came up for PM's birth. *snicker*

If I could go anywhere, I'd choose Guatemala right now. I want to run my hands over the stone pyramids and hear the jungle breathing all around me. That would be perfect for my next wip.

Scott - yeah, sometimes to get to see something we wanted to and then ended up disappointed. I hear ya.

Peggy - from what I understand - California is having cold weather right now. They even had snow in parts of it the other day? But yes, everywhere else you listed should be warm right now.

Joely - why aren't I surprised. Your Mayan story - of course!

You're going to beg for a bear? LOL! Trust me, you do NOT want a bear. They mess us the trash and poop in your driveway and sun on your deck in the good spot while smiling evily at you through the window where you're trapped inside without Girl Scout Cookies!!!

But they give you something to blog about! Okay - how about Cheeto loving geese?

We're still deep in the throes of winter here, so I'm heading somewhere tropical. I'm thinking Belize? Hawaii? The Caribbean? And I'll take the kids and DH with me. It's awesome to see the wonders of the world through a child's eyes.

Thanks for your lovely words at my blog, Eve. I appreciate them. And I'm so glad to hear that Devlin is better.

LOVE THE AVATAR!

where would I go ... where would I go - you know if the kids weren't there (and I knew they were being compitently being looked after) I think I could go just about anywhere - but my dream place is a beach; any beach will do. Warm salty air blowing around....

Bailey Stewart said...

Meretta - Hi! Yeah, the eyes of a child can be pretty awesome. And thank you about Devlin.

Dennie - yes, you wouldn't have to worry about the kids - time is suspended so nobody has to look after them.

I'd go to the mountains--probably Colorado. I fancy a change. No children or family allowed--just a couple of really good buddies for a lonnnng weekend :)

Rene said...

Oh, easy one. I'd head for the Big Island with Hugh Jackman. I'd stay at the Four Seasons or maybe the Fairmont Orchid. Just me and Hugh.....

Glad you like my post. I'm surprised anyone can understand it. Extreme typos.

Bailey Stewart said...

Toni - yeah, alone. I so long to be alone for a while.

Rene - it wouldn't be just you and Hugh because I'd have to track you down like the dog you are - stealing my man LOL Dennie would tell you that that means war! *gg* And the post is good - I just have to think about it first.

I would head for the mountains. I'm thinking secluded resort with skiing, hiking, horse riding trails and full spa ameneties (sp?). Maybe New Mexico with snow on the slopes but riding trails are clear. Then, when I'm sore from skiing and riding, there is a gorgeous masseur to rub the aches and pains away. DH is with me and our room as a jacuzi for soaking and whatever else we can come up with ;).

I'd stay home by myself for 24 hours. I haven't been left alone since my accident over 20 years ago when I was 16.

I understand completely about the drums. Our next door neighbor, in this case the father, pounds on his constantly it seems. UGH!!!

Jill is so right! Bears are not worth having around even if you need something to write about. Unless they are going to get rid of the drum sets. LOL

I'd want to go to Australia or New Zealand. I'd take my sister. She would want to take her husband and then she would have to find some to take care of her cats. This is getting comlicated.I guess it would be warm there. They have opposite seasons from us.
BTW I was on eharlequin last night for The Readers Choice Awards and Do Not Disturb won Favorate Mini-series, Leslie Kelly won Favorite Book Of 2005 for Don't Open Til Christmas and I remember Isabel Sherpe winning for All I Want. For further results go to www.eharlequin.com and Reader Choice Awards under Talk.

That's it Susan - I just want to be alone for a while. 24 hours is all I'm asking for. I haven't been alone for any sizeable length of time in a couple of years. (sizeable - I mean more than an hour) I'm the type of person that needs to have my batteries charged every once in a while - which is probably why I feel so drained now (pun not intended).

I can see the headlines now - "Sierra bears mysteriously turn up in North Texas, found attacking drum set in Dallas neighborhood." LOL

Bailey Stewart said...

Oh Christa - that's great! I voted for all of those - it's so nice to vote for something and actually have them win (ouch). I'll have to go see the other winners.

Don't worry about the cats - time is suspended remember. That's why I wouldn't have to worry about mom - she wouldn't really be alone because NO TIME HAS PASSED.

Hmm. Where would I like to go? Well, I have a really long list, but I'd say the UK first. I want to see all the castles and manor houses. But who to take with me...? Hugh's gonna be way too busy, I think. Pierce Brosnan, maybe? Or Nick Lea?

Bailey Stewart said...

Castles - yeah, that would be fun too.

Either choice sounds good to me - you're right - Hugh will be busy LOL

Peru and Machu Picchu--although I wonder if they have a chairlift--uhoh, no, I hate being suspended in the air. I really don't know how I'd get up there.

Let's make that Hong Kong to see my friend. In that case I'd go alone since she'd be inviting me to stay with her. She just sent me a set of gorgeous postcards of Discovery Bay, the area they live in. They live on a peninsula and the whole area seems to be bays and islands and peninsulas. I've been trying to find a map of HK but so far have come up empty- handed. Argh. What good is the Internet if I can't even see something like that. Maybe I'll still find it somewhere.

Calgon - take me away. I want to sleep - I NEED to sleep, but these kids are driving me nuts. They're playing in the side yard, then in our front yard (I have South/East windows in this room). They were even up on the ramp (which is right next to my front/East window). I had to get up and go tell them to get off of there. Now they are over in the side yard, yapping and bouncing a basketball, making the youngest cry. Is this going to happen all summer? Do I need to give up my precious reading time, start going to bed early, and never read another book again? Maybe I can get Raine to blow them up - I know, they're just kids, but I can dream can't I?

Bailey Stewart said...

oh Hi Ruby, you posted the same time I did. I'm sure there's a map somewhere.

And we'll just say that all maladies are suspended too. How's that? Then you can go to Machu Pichu.

I'm off to try to sleep again. "They" seem to have moved on. For the moment.

Scott, I've been to the ruins of Chinon palace where Jeanne d'Arc first saw the Dauphin. There's not much left but it's still full of ambience, atmosphere, historic memories--whatever you want to call it. Yes, I believe the village itself is probably not too memorable. Too bad I don't have my France Michelin guides handy to let you know what actually *is* there. But Orléans is beautiful and areas right around the Cathedral haven't changed too much from her time.

I really should read the other comments before, or as I do mine. I've never seen the Mayan ruins in Guatemala, just parts of the Yucatan ones. That has been a dream of mine since I read a book as a teen that alluded to them. Mind if I go with you, Joely? So you're writing a book set there? Historical or contemporary? Have you ever read "The Fair God" by Lew Wallace of Ben-Hur fame? It's set in Mexico around the time of the Conquest. I loved that book--well, I guess I still do.

Oh, Eve, it would be great for both Christa and me--probably others, too--to have maladies, aches and pains suspended. That would be worth even staying at my sister's farm. I could walk through the woods without fear of falling and not being able to get up again as I did at my brother's about 6 years ago or so. I thought I'd have to scream for help but I never did tell them what happened. My family being as sceptical about my having a real illness as they are--after all, "just suck it up"--probably wouldn't even believe me, except for my sister's family. And I'd just have been embarrassed and then angry at them.

Re: the HK map. I was probably too tired to look too much. I'd been looking at Google's real maps of towns and cities, including one of the place my brother lives in. I don't know if URL links function here in the blog but I'll send it to you some time. He lives right next to the Niagara Escarpment trail. And I mean, right next to it. They can see people walking along it and say hi to them.

I would love to go to either Ireland or Scotland. I also want to see Stonhenge. However, I can't envision going by myself. It wouldn't be as fun w/o someone to sare the experiences with. Thanks for allowing a small dream in the middle of the day!

I'd love to go to Ireland! I want to visit Africa too as well as Australia.

Thanks for the dream cause I'm going to need it. Since I got the new fridge last week and it's all new and white, everything else in my kitchen looks dirty. So today I thought I would scub the stove. But then the counter beside it looked dirty. Next thing I know I have the microwave on the freezer scubbing it. Agter everything was put back nicely cleaned on the clean counter I turn around and the freezer is a mess cause that's where I did most of my spraying of Fantastik and scubbing. So now the freezer is scubbed in there too. Now I have to find something to eat cause it's after 5. Tomorrow I have to do the floor cause I dropped a lot of crumbs when I was scubbing the toaster. I guess this is what you call spring cleaning. Btw I even scubbed the tea kettle.
Ruby where abouts is your brother cause I'm in St. Catharines. About 15 minutes from the Escartment. If you take the highway, in good weather, with not much traffic.
