Change is in the Air

I'm a writer. I know I haven't acted like one lately, but life has kind of stepped on my toes. But the fact is that I am a writer. I have to get serious about that. So the first step is going to be the introduction of Bailey Stewart into my life. I need to let her out, breathe a bit. So you'll notice that name being bandied about, sort of a Cece/Amie thing ('cuz I know that Dennie isn't confused enough). I'll still be Eve on some sites (Jill's for instance - most of them don't come here and would be thoroughly confused), but most of you will be seeing Bailey Stewart in your comment boxes. Get used to it. You can still call me Eve if you want to, but if you have my name in your links, I'd appreciate it if you'd change that to Bailey Stewart. I still don't have the money to join anything yet, nor am I ready for contests (that pesky Alzheimer's issue), but I have to do what I can to make it more real for me, to get me motivated and if that means pulling out the pen name, then so be it. I'm also working on a website. Definitely not finished, but you can look at it if you'd like - it's down there under websites in the links. Oh, and the new picture (well, not new, but more grown-up - I figure if I age myself gradually I'll eventually get to a newer picture). That's me at 21 - when I think I looked my best. Ah, to be young again.

Bwaahaaaaaa! She'll need more coffee than her pot can hold. Hi Dennie (waving).

Wait... wait... Who are you? Who are BOTH of you??? I recognized the pics, but the names are just not ringing any bells here. ;P

Alright, lady---
Who are you, and what did you do to Eve??!

Brandy said...

Ok, I'll play. But if I email you, I'm usung Eve!! And gee, wherever did you get your pen name *g* *wink, wink*

I like the name. Is there a story behind it or just something you like?

Lis said...

Hi Bailey :o)
I'll change the link on my blog over tomorrow. Nice pic btw!!

Bailey Stewart sounds great! And you know I think you look very beautiful at that picture.

Bailey Stewart has a good ring to it. I'll change the name on my links but I'll still call you Eve. To be twenty-one again? Young and beautiful maybe but still so much to learn. I prefer the confidence I feel now I think although I wouldn't mind swapping my body with the one I had then. Sigh!

Ah! It's a Wonderful Life and you are going to write about it! Awesome!

Seriously, the first time I saw it on Brandy's site, I'm thinking "WHO is this person who wrote as though she knows what's been happenin' with my SIL?", then I figured it out. Threw me for a loop it did. And then I thought, "Christmas". LOL

I like the name. Will feel funny if it's used for writing erotica, but otherwise - congrats!
Sometimes, you just gotta do what feels write. *gg*

This coming from someone who goes by the name Bebo?

Raine - I stuffed her in the closet.

Brandy - you can still call me Eve - that's my name.

Jeanne - It's a Wonderful Life has always been my favorite movie. Bailey (George Bailey) + Stewart (James Stewart) = Bailey Stewart.

Lis - yes, I like that pic. Unfortunately quite a lot of mileage has gone on this body since then.

Loreth - thank you. She was, wasn't she? I used to think I was fat and ugly, but I look back at that picture and think how skewered our minds were/are about what beauty is. I wasn't svelte enough, therefore I couldn't have been beautiful.

Ah Olga, Thanks. But I have to say that that picture is over 20 years old. Things have changed since then.

Siobhan - yes, you can still call me Eve. And that's what I meant - to just have that body again.

City Chickie - you're so smart. *ggg* I have other pen names for different genres, don't worry, poor ol' George won't be disappointing Clarence by writing erotica.

It sounds like Bailey is closely related to Eve's evil twin.

Diane said...

Well, howdy do, Ms Stewart.

Bailey Stewart said...

Christa - they're cousins.

Diane - ackkk, I was just over at your site. Howdy right back atcha.

I'll go along with this but I think you're just out to total confuse me! And I'm still going to email you as Eve whether Ms Bailey Stewart likes it or not. ;P

I found this quote and think you could use it after reading you're blog today.

“If you don’t feel that you are possibly on the edge of humiliating yourself, of losing control of the whole thing, then probably what you are doing isn’t very vital. If you don’t feel like you are writing somewhat over your head, why do it? If you don’t have some doubt of your authority to tell this story, then you are not trying to tell enough.” John Irving

Bailey Stewart is a great name!

However, I've been toying with the idea of buying the domain for my REAL name. *g*

Bailey Stewart said...

No Susan - we're out to totally confuse Dennie. LOL
I like the quote.

Buying? Do I need to buy something? Tori - you've confused me.

I like it! Although it will take me a little while to get used to the new name. Is there a story behind it?

Joely Sue Burkhart said...

Oops that was ME!

Bailey Stewart said...

Joely - for a minute there I thought someone else had changed their name. LOL Yes, like I said it's a combination of one of my favorite movie characters (George Bailey) and his portrayer who also happens to be one of my favorite actors (James Stewart).

Right now I keep looking at it and giggling - delightful giggling that is. One of the first ones to change the link was Raine and I kept going over there to look at the name. Now I keep going to Diane's too. And to the webpage. I've also opened a sub-account with my email - the email with this blog is now baileystewart etc. I think for me it's just making everything more real. Does that make sense?

Michele said...

*ahem* I changed mine too, but not how you'd expect.
Hey, I gotta find my niche

Michele said...

*ahem*
Do you want me to change it????

Bailey Stewart said...

Um, it's cute ... but yeah, could you maybe change it. LOL

I hadn't even thought of it that way. Hmmmm.

Meretta said...

So very pleased to make your acquaintance! Now get writing!! ;)

Saskia Walker said...

Well hello, Bailey. :) I think it really helps, getting your writing persona in place. When I'm Saskia I feel much more sophisticated than I really am LOL I'm wishing Bailey lots of success!

Ah, so that picture was at 21. Great picture, Ee-uh, Bailey.

Now that Stewart part might get a bit get a bit confusing, but that way you can join the family. Not the confusion bit but my sister's family who is also a Stewart, by marriage. So I guess the Bailey is the Irish part in honor of Bailey (you must have liked that name a while already) and Stewart is the Scots part? See "Stuart" never hit me like that. It's the visual part that does it.

Groan, I didn't even connect it with the movie. Well, you'll have another James Stewart to contend with from my family. It's the name my brother-in-law goes by, though in the family it's Jamie.

Just looked at your profil again. I didn't know Lori Foster was one of your favorites. She's blogging with runningwithquills.com since this month or May with some of my favorite authors.

Yup, Eve, makes perfect sense. See, now you've got multiple personae, too. Just like me, only for a different reason. I see we have several common interests as well: history, archaeology, games, genealogy.

Have fun! Oh, did you catch up on your sleep yet?

Sorry, lots of booboos in that. I'm trying to multitask and that never seems to turn out too well any more.

When I babysat in high school, I could watch TV, do my homework and watch four children at the same time. No problemo.

Now, I'm lucky if I can do 1 thing at a time. I'm actually also editing a rough translation in the Wikipedia about the "Stadtbahn" in Berlin (and Vienna). I went to Wik. because I wanted to do what you said on your profile (with an e of course) about birthdays, but couldn't find it. Can't remember how I got to the Stadtbahn article. I think there may have been some listing of articles that needed editing in the first couple of pages, too.

Michele said...

*sigh* Big *sigh*
I changed it.
Just for you.
Cuz I like you.
But I thought it was so clever!!!

I hate conformity. Pooh

I sometimes get in a funk and have to sit down and make myself write. I'm glad you are using your pen name to help you. I love the name :)

I like the name Bailey Stewart. I would also like to know if there is a story behind your choice.

I would like to be young again, too! Eighteen sounds good to me!

I think this is sensational news! It’s a very exciting and positive step you’re taking for yourself. I have every confidence that you'll be meeting with great success soon--whatever name(s) you use!

And, trust me, Bailey, you and those you know will get used to your penname in no time at all. I’ve used mine for so long that sometimes I forget who I’m supposed to be at any given time, and I often give the wrong name at the wrong time to the wrong person. LOL I’m every bit as much “Daisy” as I am my given name and I answer to it without hesitation.

I hope this bright new change is just the beginning of much happiness and writing success coming your way. :-D

(BTW--I'll change your link on my blog at my next update.)

Go Bailey. Nice of you to come out in the open. Good luck with your writing AND in making time for YOU.

anne frasier said...

hehe.

good luck with the new name. my name isn't really anne frasier. when people find out what it really is they try to call me by my real name but they can't do it. ten seconds later they call me anne. pretty funny.
this will be kind of the reverse of that.

Love the new name! Have changed it on my blogroll. And what a great way you came up with it!! Now, get to writing, LOL!

I've never thought about writing under a pen name to get myself motivated, although I have thought up my "pen names". What a neat trick! I'll change your name on my blog tomorrow. Congrats on taking some control back over your life!
