Friends are the siblings that God forgot to give us. Unknown
It’s true. Many times throughout my life I have had friends who have made the going much easier. Some stayed, others moved on – but no less loved for no longer being here. Each filled a need at the time, essential parts of my soul nourished by their presence and support. I have made many such friends here on my blog, although I’ve only met one. That doesn’t matter a whole hell of a lot – the feelings are still there. We support each other, stroke when needed, cry when called for, hug just for the heck of it. And we laugh – long cleansing guffaws of healing laughter. One of my “sisters”, Brandy, sent me this beautiful cross-stitch. She made it herself. Isn’t it beautiful?

On other news the heat wave seems to have let up for a while – I don’t trust that it’s entirely gone, but this reprieve is nice. The high today was 88 – with relatively low humidity. I can’t wait for Fall weather – highs in the 70s will be nice. My brain just shuts down in the summer; it hibernates and doesn’t come awake until the weather turns a bit chilly.

I'm reading Forbidden Merger by Emilie Rose, the 10th book in the Elliotts series. Blackhawk's Betrayal by Barbara McCauley,The Morning-After proposal by Sheri WhiteFeather, Revenge of the Second Son by Sara Orwig and The Boss's Christmas Seduction. The October Desires. And of course Out of This World.
The Boss's Christmas Seduction is by Yvonne Lindsay. I am an hour ahead so it is midnight here. If I'm making these kinds of mistakes I think I should go to bed.

On my TBR pile there is a book I found from a bookstore yesterday. It's called Bones Buried Deep. It's written by Max Allan Collins and the book features the character of Tempe Brennan that was created by Kathy Reichs. Oh, yeah, the book is also based on the tv series Bones. On my TBR pile there are also some Desire books.

I'm currently reading 'Run for Home' by Sheila Quigley. Next on the tottering TBR pile is 'One Shot' by Lee Child, then 'Solo' by Jill Mansell. Oh, if only there were more hours in the day...
I feel fortunate to have all by blog friends too, and always think about the friends I've had and have. That's the stuff of life.

my TBR - is pretty much everything - I have only read three books in the last few months and it is a series, the first book of which (The royal brotherhood by Sabrina Jeffries) I had already read a couple of years ago.
