And Now, the End is Near

Okay- we're 98% finished, but enough that I can start putting things up. There's some touch-ups along the top for Susie to do, and then I have to paint the part of the shelves that I couldn't get to because the credenza was pulled out. Only I had Susie carry the paint bucket (heavy) out to the garage - sheesh. Anyway, no after pictures until the curtains are up and everythings in its place. And things aren't fitting like I had hoped. I had wanted to bring the mini-fridge in here, but the couch is a lot longer than the one that had been in here before - hmmmm. You should have seen Susie and I getting that couch in here. It's a good thing I'm covering it with a slip-cover because we sort of tore it getting it into the house ...

There's no real hurry now, although I do have to get all of the boxes out of the living room and into their respective rooms, but then I can just leisurely unpack (I'd like to have it done by next week).

Okay - off to blog a little before mom gets up.

Sounds like it is slowly coming together!!!!

Slowly being the operative word here.

It sounds like you can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Slowly but surely. Hope it all works out good for you today.

Susan - funny you should mention tunnel - I feel like I've been hit by a train. LOL

Kelley - I am sooo tired of this. I want to get back to writing.

So am I. *gg*

At the rate I'm going, that should be about December.

Well, it's a good thing you didn't like that couch much anyway, huh? Glad it's starting to come together.

Oops, I didn't care the paint buckets to the garage.

Now that you mention it - I see one over there under a tarp. Guess there goes that excuse.

How well I know that word "slowly". I'm still far, far from unpacked after my move. I have to have something at least waist-high to sort things on. That means my desk. But what do I do with all the stuff that is on there. And I'm seriously suffering from sensory overload: the humming of the fridge annoys me; the hairdressers' and customers' talking annoys me; the traffic noise outside annoys me; above all, the radio in the beauty salon is driving me CRAZY. The landlord's rep thinks it's time for me to wake up so on goes the radio. At least the landlord himself was open to persuasion in trying to keep the volume down. The whole thing is that it's not the waking me up that bothers me most, it's just that I have to listen to it all the time. OVERLOAD--definitely. And that completely stresses me out.

Eve, I'm glad you've come this far already and had someone to help you. I once did all the wallpapering in a nobby wallpaper myself and painted it all an off white. Some of it was quite high but at least the rest got almost down to...hmm, it was a garrett apartment, I think it might have gone just down to my head height or a little lower. I know I was able to look out the cantilevered window. I can remember that I was always afraid that Jamie, my brother-in-law, might hit is head when he got up from the bed in his room and he's about 10" taller than I am.

I'm definitely not prepared to do that kind of stuff anymore.

And guess what I got today. I saw this big padded envelope in my mailbox. At first I didn't think it was from you. But I looked at the sender's address and thought, "That's an odd size for a book." So you can imagine how thrilled I was to get two. You are a real sweetheart for sending me that extra one. Remember, I said I'd pay for it if you could find another copy. So you've got to let me know how much. As you can see above I've been feeling low and cornered with no way out. But I'm pleased as Punch to get the books. Oddly enough, I was just thinking of "The Last Bride" yesterday. I figured you hadn't had time to mail it yet. Hugs, thanks and prayers are winging your way for you, your mom and Bebo. I hope all of you get settled in well and that your mom won't go walkabout too much.

Yeeeaaahhhhh Eve's back!!!!!! Glad to hear about the progress on the room!! You've certainly got alot done. Like everyone else, can't wait to see the after pictures. Get some rest!

Take a nap and Sinatra and the back-up singers show up. *gg*

um Sigrun - are we coming out of the "closet" now? You don't owe me anything. If it were a lot of books, then we would talk about it. I just read a couple of your comments and knew you were having a hard time finding that book, so when it came in to the bookstore I picked it up for you. It only cost a little over a dollar.

Kate - I'm more interested in what's coming together for you. *gg* Looking forward to this book.

Dennie - yeah, yeah, I hear you. Asthma is why Bebo couldn't help.

City Chickie - you're so cute.

Melissa and Brandy - if I don't get my butt in gear there won't be any after pictures. I haven't done a thing with the room today.
