For Daisy

I promised Daisy that I wouldn't post anything great until after the weekend (don't worry, we'll still have Spamarama Friday - she'll just have to get over it), so here's a joke for your day. Actually, I'm just up to my armpits in boxes, etc.

God is so Good!!
After starting a new diet, I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning and as I approached, there in the window were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed ... "Lord, it's up to you, if you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery." And sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was!

Eve! LOL! This is hysterical. I could have written this myself--many times--in the past (and I have no doubt it will apply again in the future!)

See? I told you so, Eve. :-D You can’t be boring even when you try. LOL

That is so funny! It could so easily be me too. :o)

YES!
HE helps those who help themselves, what better thing to help ourselves to than sweets?
Even 8 times around the block,LOL.
Nice chuckles for a Wed. morning.
Thanks, Eve!

That could have easily have been written by my mom. She suffers from sweet tooth syndrome more than anyone I know! :)

I hate when that happens. They just put a Tim Hortons on the corner near me and a Mandarin in the plaza across from me.

See, the driver knew you just have to be patient & wait for the answer your heart wants. In this case donuts, crullers & eclairs. Yummm!!! ;P

Jordan - that's the idea. ;-)

Duchess - you're not supposed to be here, tsk, tsk.
Write woman, write.

Shirley - yep, been there, done that.

You're welcome City Chickie.

See Scott - I know a few men that this would apply to. One of my former co-workers was a bigger chocoholic than I am.

Carol - thank you.

Joely - yeah, I hate it when it takes 10 or 12 times. :)

Susan - contrary to comments I made above, sweets aren't my big downfall, I'm a carbs woman (give me potatoes).

Christa - are you sure you hate it? ;-)

Bebo - Oh my!

I have a lot of things to get done today - so will not be checking in as much. I'm trying to finish my blogging, so if I don't get to you this morning that means you didn't have a new post this morning when I came by.

Ok so maybe I don't hate it but my waistline and scale don't like it very much.

Your too funny! I hear ya. Dieting is sooo hard. I'm currently on one right now. I did really good and lost 18 pounds. Then I fell off and have discovered it is much harder to start again then it was to start initially.

I just love it when God answers prayer :)

Now that's a really good one. LOL

Hmm, not really paying attention to God, eh?

My personal use of the goodies is currently very much dictated by the amount of moolah I have. I guess that's why I've lost weight. And oddly enough, I don't even crave those wonderful delights very much anymore.

Oh, Eve, when you have a few minutes you might want to have a look at what I wrote on Jill's blog today.*gg*

adoao - By adding additional letters can you spell a word using these letters in their exact order? Anybody? These are my verification letters.

What happened to my post? I posted this morning!!! Whah!!

LOL--I liked that one :) In St Andrews they have a bakery called Fisher and Donaldson. They make the best fudge doughnuts in the WORLD and I'm going to get a box when I'm back and turn into a pumpkin and NOT care!!!!

ROTFL! Donuts, Yum! I am so hungry right now.

Michele said...

Fudge donuts? Oh gimme, gimme!
They don't have those around here.

adoao? Hmmm ..no clue. I give up..so, what is the word?
Adornamo?fandomano? Adoration?
I like Adoration...did I win?

BTW - SIL spoke last night - coraked actually. She saw and recognized her daughter and said " I love you". Then fell back asleep. Isn't that beautiful? Prayers are definitely working. Thanks SO much for keeping her in your thoughts , Eve!
It means alot.
(hugs)

Christa - I hear ya.

Loreth - when I was successfully dieting (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) I allowed myself one day to eat what I wanted to, it's the only way I could do it.

Dennie and Rene - *gg*

Kelley - it is harder, but not impossible - at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Brandy - I lurve bakeries too.

Meretta - unfortunately, I think I get that "sign" much too often.

Glenice - you and me both.

Beyond me Ruby - a foreign word I would guess.

Jeanne - and they like me back.

Toni - fudge donuts? Oh wow.

Sandy - are you saying you're susceptible to the power of suggestion? (Give Eve all of my money)

Oh Michele that's wonderful.

Okay - got a lot done today , but still more to go so bear with me. I promise I'll be back to my talkative self by next week.
