A Day Late, But Not a Dollar Short

I forgot about yesterdays release of The Duchess' newest book, so here it is:

Wicked Payback By Daisy Dexter Dobbs

Celibate for three years following her second divorce from the same man, Meredith is tired of being a goody-two-shoes. It's time for a change. A rebellion. And that's precisely why she agrees to meet her multi-cheating ex-husband for a reunion dinner on her birthday. While the charming Jack is anticipating an evening of raw sex, romance and reconciliation, Meredith has a different agenda in mind. One that involves a well-deserved, wickedly funny dose of payback. Her sinful scheme would be a lot less challenging if her thighs didn't quiver at the mere thought of Jack's substantial attributes. His big, bold, deeply satisfying attributes. And if she could only forget how a certain vigorous thrust and twist of his hips sends her spiraling into orgasmic bliss.Alas, after she realizes she's still in love with Jack, poor Meredith's vengeful plans go terribly awry. And she suddenly finds herself face-to-face with a sexy woman in a slinky red dress. A devilish woman—with a pair of horns sprouting beneath her bangs.Oh yes, turning forty can be hell. Literally.

I love the way this sounds. The theme of making a deal with the devil is always a winner with me.

Sure tempt me with another great sounding book.
Are you barefoot?

Bailey Stewart said...

Yes ma'am - well mostly, but they don't give you options on footwear - I have little "almost nothing there" ballerina slippers on, I might as well be barefoot.

Bailey Stewart said...

Scott - so, are you revealing a secret here? LOL

Joely - I just love Daisy's sense of humor. Or have I said that already? More caffeine.

This sounds like a fun book and I love the cover! It looks like you've introduced me to another author I'm going to enjoy reading.

So many good books and not enough hours in the day or money in the bank to read them all. :(

Well, from what I've read on her blog & press releases, this looks like yet another author to add to my "must read" list as well.

And I tell you there are days when I would almost... almost... make that deal w/ the devil... hehehe!!
;P (Hey, they already call me the beotch from hell anyway! May as well!)

Wow--what a great way to start my morning! :-D

Thank you so much for featuring my book, Wicked Payback, Eve! The story is very special to me and one of my personal favorites.

And thanks so much to you and your readers for all the wonderful comments. Honestly, nothing makes me happier than to have people appreciate my humor. :-)

Eve, I simply wouldn’t feel right unless I left you with this little heartfelt comment that I just totally made up in my head this very minute…

Hello, world, here the song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!

We had a dream, we'd go travelin' together,
We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on.
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singing a song.

Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin'
C'mon get happy!
A Whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!

(*Bwaaaahahahahahahaha!*)

Okay - let's try this again.

Of course you do Cece - I have to wait and make another payment on the credit card before I can get it, but it's next on my list.

Eve: Yes the full title is: Bebo the Fire Breathing Dragon Bitch from Hell. So there. I'd be in good company with Meredith from Daisy's book. Where's my flame retardant suit?

Daisy: a lets dust off this little ditty:

There's a man who leads a life of danger
Everyone he meets, he sees a stranger,
Down every road he takes
Another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow...
Secret Agent Man, secret agent man
They've given you a number
And taken 'way your name...

Bailey Stewart said...

Daisy - she's been wanting to do that for days. *gg*

Okay folks - I'm shutting down the computer. Nap time and the room is heating up from this machine. I'll check in before work. Have a great afternoon (or evening wherever you are).

The book sounds like great fun. She does seem to have a whacky sense of humor even on her blog. Sometimes I really need that, but then I guess we all can do with a dose of it. It won't hurt unless you've just broken your ribs or had heart surgery.

You've said it already, Susan.

Glad you plugged Brenda's auction for Juvenile Diabetes, Glenice. Brenda's youngest child has it.

Ruby and Jordan - Daisy is a very funny lady. And she uses that humor to cope with what life throws at her, that's a great tool to have.

Michele - yeahuh, Ellora's is good.

You're absolutely right, Eve. I'm only now really learning how much I've missed in life by being basically very serious. Our whole family was while I was growing up. All my relatives had lived through very hard times.

It wasn't until after I was gone and the younger siblings drifted into high school that things became less serious and they began to tease each other. It was a real eye-opener when I came back from Europe the first time and they were teasing each other.

I can remember one incident when my father tried a little bit of humor on my step-grandmother. The attempt fell totally flat and she was almost mortally hurt. She wasn't used to his joking, not being totally serious. I've never really learned to joke. I can appreciate humor and get a good laugh out of something funny. I can even laugh at myself. There really is only one joke of which I can remember the punch line. Very sad but true. I tend to be sarcastic rather than humorous and that's not a good trait. So forgive me please if I ever am.

Hope you got a good nap, Eve.

I'm in need of one too. I really need to get my sleep pattern under control. By the time I was ready to go to bed last "night", the sun was already shining. As a result: no sleep. But it's a vicious circle; if I give in to sleep now, I'll be awake till morning tomorrow. Yet right now, my pillow is really tugging at me.

Bailey Stewart said...

Dennie - you're welcome.

Ruby - my family has always coped with things through humor. I know no other way, and yet at times I wish I did, because humor isn't always appropriate.

The liner notes alone are enough to get my attention. I'll check it out.

I finished Unleash and enjoyed it thoroughly. I'll bring it by today while I'm out running around. We'll be leaving for Houston later today for DH's nephew's wedding on Saturday.

See ya later.
