Toast

Yes, I'm toast. We just got back from the hospital - mom fell again. No breaks but we got there at 6:30 and they discharged her a little before midnight. We did find out that she has an urinary tract infection and her sodium was low. But she's very sore. I'm hoping she'll go on to sleep. Oh, before I forget, she fell again when she was almost to the bed - my neighbors had to come and help Bebo and I get mom onto the bed. Anyway, I'm too tired to post more - but let me repeat - she didn't break anything. Going to bed now - it's going to be a long night. And yes, for some reason I have internet this evening. Go figure.

Dear Eve, I'm really sad about your mum. It seems to be one thing after another and my heart goes out to you. Be brave! I know you'll get through it. Lots of hugs and take care. ((()))

It sounds like your mom is ready for assisted care. I'm not sure you will be able to handle this anymore. My grandma is the same way, alway falling, nicking herself, breaking things--and it keeps getting worse.

Oh, Bailey!
Major ((HUGS))

I think Scott is right. It's a hard and wrenching decision when the time comes.

Here's hoping that you are able to keep up your strength, positive attitude and health through all this. You are very courageous, Bailey.
You're an awesome daughter!

Girl you just have too many rough nights. I pray for you and your mom! You are a wonderful daughter to give so unselfishly of yourself. I mean your life is pretty much on hold in certain ways to care for her. I wish you so many good things!

When I read your post, I thought the same thing Scott mentioned. Her falling is becoming more frequent and you need help getting her up. Probably the thought has occurred to you as well.

I'm praying for wisdom and internal strength for you to make the right decision for both your mom and you. Is she losing her equilibrium or are her legs too weak? You really have been giving a lot of yourself to your mother.

Big hugs and a lot of prayers for you and your mom. I'm thankful she didn't break anything.

Hope you had a good sleep at least. Keep up your courage and find out what help you can get. May God surround you both with his love.

Oh baby! I am so sorry! but I am so glad to hear that your Mom is OK...sort of :) sounds like there are other things now too...it may not be all that long now, I agree with Scott...please don't try to take on too much! I know you want to keep her as long as possible, but I am not sure that you and Bebo can handle this much longer... :(

Oh the good side, at least you have internet :) hee hee!!!

Oh and I think I am home now for a few weeks :) HOORAY!!!

Oh, Bailey, I’m so sorry to hear that, but so glad your mom didn’t break anything. You must be so exhausted and stressed. I hope you get some needed rest. Hang in there. You’re a good person and fine daughter, Bailey, not to mention a strong woman and a survivor.

Eve--Take care of yourself. I'm sure you know that urinary tract infections can aggravate dementia--your Mom may well settle down a bit when the antibiotics start working. I hope you can curl up in the comfy chair with the kitties and get some rest, in any case. Let everything go that doesn't absolutely need to be done. I'm glad you have Bebo nearby.
